Like Samisa suggested, we can have reviews around L1 issues we fixed &
patches. I also suggest that we do reviews of the newly added
features. I'm sure all folks on this group would have added at least
one new feature, so it should be very easy to get stuff to be
reviewed.

I looked in to the maven3 migration some time ago, as I too wanted to
use tycho plugins. At first glance migration overhead is minimal. I
will own this.

I took an svn up from the trunk and started building from the carbon

I think, I'm correct here.[1]. Since we have branched out versions of
axis2 (not externals) the given example is wrong and we should not see
any test failures in the final RC tag/dependencies.

AFAIU, the svn externals in the tag pointing to the branch. for an
example axis2 still pointing to 3.2.0 branch. So even if this tag is
made using the revision we used for final RC, it does not gurantee the
related svn versions in the svn externals. Instead it always checkout
the HEAD version in the svn externals.

I may be wrong here.

Re: [Carbon-dev] Maven3 Migration???

2011-06-17 Thread Sameera Jayasoma
Hi Dennis,

Is it a straight forward migration, or else does it involves
considerable amount of work?

I would like if someone can own this and do it in the trunk. But he
can start in a scratch first, test thoroughly and commit to the trunk.

Thanks,
Sameera.

Re: [Carbon-dev] Ability to map a custom context to Stratos applications.

2011-06-17 Thread Sanjiva Weerawarana
Hi Shameera,

I assume you are talking about .stratosapps.com map to
appserver.stratoslive.wso2.com/t/tenant.com/app13 right? We also need to
allow users to define their own name and not just have it at .
stratosapps.com. Can you expand more on how this works and what exactly you
are storing where?

The most scalable place to store the data persistently is in Cassandra. For
the runtime representation its better to use the distributed cache so that
all nodes have the data handy when you need it on any node.

Thanks,

Sanjiva.

How can there be test failures in the tag? I think we ran all the tests in
the final RC??

 Hi,

 1) Have we done the subjects? If not we need to do it immediately? Once
it is done, we can graduate all the orbit bundles from the trunk.

 2) Hosting 3.2.0 P2 repo. We need to do the subject also..

 Thanks,
 Sameera

Hi Prabath,
When taking the svn up from 3.2.0 tag[1] , externals still pointing to
latest revisions.

eg - Fetching external item into 'features/etc'
Afeatures/etc/feature.properties
Checked out external at revision 107874.

Shall I deploy artifacts with the current tag?

Yeah there are two known critical issues in GS, that need to be fixed for
stratos, we are currently working on them.

 Folks,
Please note that you cannot simply commit to this branch anymore since
our focus is to have a stable branch for the Stratos release. If you intend
to fix anything in this branch, you have to let us know (drop a mail) and
talk to me before doing so.

Ratha, Lalaji, and others, please note.

Re: [Carbon-dev] [Important] Commits to 3.2.0 branch for the 3.2.1 release are controlled

2011-06-17 Thread Afkham Azeez
I clearly mentioned that the L1/L2 have to be fixed in the trunk, and we
will be doing a 3.3.0 release from the trunk. Only L1s which are absolutely
critical & fixes needed for Stratos will go into 3.2.1.

2011-06-17 Thread Nuwan Bandara
Hi Azeez,

Sorry for not acknowledging, however I was under the impression that branch
is open for commits related to carbon 3.2.1 point release, hence requested
Lalaji to add 3.2.1 modules of relevant components (that has L2 issues) that
need to be fixed for stratos/carbon point release.

We will ack before adding any fixes in future.

Maven3 has improved the performance over Maven2. That is just a single
features. For other improvements, refer [1].

Maven3 seems be compatible with Maven2 projects. But here are some
 reported compatibility issues.

 Hi All,

I came across Eclipse Tycho project[0]. It turned out that, it can
build Eclipse plugins and OSGi bundles using Apache Maven.[1]. Thus we
 can
use it in Carbon Studio. Anyone tried this before?

I am thinking of this as a solution for getting rid of Ant4Eclipse
which we are currently using to build Carbon Studio. Planning to play
 around
a bit. will keep the list updated.

This means you may have to define the $carbon.platform.patch.version
property in many poms. If this is necessary please do this but DO NOT change
any root level poms that went out with 3.2.0.

Hi ,

Currently I am building the Eclipse BPEL Designer source code for merge it
with the CS. To build the BPEL Designer source code, it requires Maven 3.

improvements to CS bpel-editor code (discussed in [Carbon-dev] New E4X

2011-06-17 Thread Afkham Azeez
Folks,
You are not supposed to change 3.2.0 POMs since those have been released. f
you change those POMs, then you have to change their versions as well. That
is not the model we are following, so please don't change the 3.2.0 POMs.

Thanks

[Carbon-dev] 3.2.0 ESB product build issue..

2011-06-17 Thread Vijayaratha Vijayasingam
Try downloading the file manually from the project website.

Hi,
I built system-statistics module+ feature

p.s: system-statistics component's/feature's root level poms not including
3.2.1 version modules

Error:
Then, install it using the command:
mvn install:install-file -DgroupId=org.wso2.carbon
-DartifactId=org.wso2.carbon.system.statistic
s.feature -Dversion=3.2.1 -Dpackaging=zip -Dfile=/path/to/file

Alternatively, if you host your own repository you can deploy the file
there:
mvn deploy:deploy-file -DgroupId=org.wso2.carbon
-DartifactId=org.wso2.carbon.system.statistics.
feature -Dversion=3.2.1 -Dpackaging=zip -Dfile=/path/to/file -Durl=[url]
-DrepositoryId=[id]

  org.wso2.carbon:org.wso2.carbon.system.statistics.feature:zip:3.2.1
