[Carbon-dev] Moving JS(Watalappan) app code into the trunk

2011-11-27 Thread Ruchira Wageesha
Hi,

I am going to move the appdev stuff into the trunk. Following will be the
structure of the code. Everything was categorized under component/scripts
assuming more other script stuff will be added in the future. But it might
need to be removed. Please shout if it needs to be changed.

Further, it would be better to keep both watalapan and mashup code base at
the same level as they are just two separations based on same rhino +
hostobject codes.

At the moment we have a bunch of host-objects in components/mashup/ is
there a way to have a set of common hostobjects ? do we have to maintain a
separate set of HO for MS and Watalappan ?

Re: [Carbon-dev] About CARBON-10154 issue.

2011-11-27 Thread Charith Wickramarachchi
Hi Jorge ,

Sorry for the late reply. I was occupied with some other work. Looks like
this issue has re-appeared in 4.0.2 release.
I have re-opened the ticket. This is a class loading issue and it is fixed
in ESB 4.0.0 release. We will fix this in the next ESB release.

Thanks for identifying the issue.

The aforementioned issues occurred due to some inappropriate dependency we
had in dbconsole component. I believe Dinusha has already fixed them and
the changes will be reflected in the next set of packs.

In the ESB, how much testing we have done on the REST API stuff so far?

Do we have a test plan for the same? We also need a comprehensive sample
app. Have we done code reviews etc of this feature?

[Carbon-dev] Removing lib/endorsed/xalan-2.7.0.wso2v1.jar from products

2011-11-27 Thread Miyuru Wanninayaka
Hi all,

During some performance tests done sometime back proved xalan lib we are
shipping with carbon products (comes through core/org.wso2.carbon.server)
is considerably slower than what Sun JVM provides. So just by removing
xalan jar, we can improve xslt performance. As tests done locally, seems
nothing gets break by doing this. If there is no objection i'll remove
xalan.jar from 3.2.3 release.

[Carbon-dev] Tomcat OSGification

2011-11-27 Thread Afkham Azeez
Pradeep,
I have attached the patch of what I have so far in this area. Please own
this item.

Thew idea is to launch Equinox from the Main class, then get Tomcat to
start up when the bundle activates, and then expose the BetterTomcat
instance as an OSGi service. This service is used within the OSGi
HttpService which we create.

Thanks
Azeez

Re: [Carbon-dev] Carbon 3.2.3 Release

2011-11-27 Thread Shammi Jayasinghe
Hi ,

In Message Broker also we have fixed an important issue [1]. I have
created the 3.2.3 branch for
MB and added to SVN.

Please add the MB for 3.2.3 release cycle.

Thanks

Re: [Carbon-dev] [Architecture] AppDev Deployment Model and Gadget Server Redesign

2011-11-27 Thread Sanjiva Weerawarana
I'm glad you got the webapp-style model to work. Let me summarize to make
sure I got it:

- person writes a watalappan app called foo (basically by creating a foo/
directory and putting various files including static stuff like html and
 images in the file hierarchy)
- they zip it up to foo.zip or simply upload the whole directory or just
copy it to the right place
- upload/copy where? ideally it should be a watalappanapps directory
(similar to webapps) under which the foo directory is created
- a custom deployer (not the webapp deployer but another one) does the work
of making foo into a valid context and doing all the underlying work to
make messages coming to /foo to find its way to the right stuff with the
right stuff loaded
- watalappan deployer should only load each file as its hit .. just like
html pages or jsps or php. plus any edit should be detected
- gadget rendering comes in by saying something like or
using the JS library from Shindig (which means the call is coming from the
client)
- any other carbon stuff we want to expose is also thru either server side
JS APIs, custom tags or client side JS APIs

UNDER NO CONDITION do we have Java-isms coming thru to the Watalappan
developer.

Is that all correct?

Sanjiva.

But problem comes, when we want to access registry, carboncontext from
a jssapps? Before finding a solution for this, it would be better if
someone clarifies the way we can access registry in an AS's JSP webapp.
Anyway, it should be WS* api of registry? If so, we can ask jss app
 developers too the same solution.
