[Carbon-dev] Editing API element by the source view of ESB is unstable..

2012-02-22 Thread Prabath Siriwardena
This is my scenario...

I have the following scenario..

1. My configuration

2. Update methods="GET" to methods="POST" - works fine

3. methods="POST" to methods="GET,POST" - from the "methods" attribute
I feel like this is a valid case. Now this produce error

[2012-02-23 12:07:21,026] ERROR - SynapseTaskManager Task helper has not
been initialized, it requires to be initialized
[2012-02-23 12:07:21,027] ERROR - ConfigAdmin Error while updating the
Synapse configuration
org.apache.synapse.commons.SynapseCommonsException: Task helper has not
been initialized, it requires to be initialized

4. Since I get the error at [3] - synapse configuration goes back to the
state in [2].

5. Now I try to update the synapse configuration with valida values - like,
update methods="POST" to methods="GET" - or anything - and this keeps on
failing..

And I cannot do any updates via source view, till I restart

Have I done anything wrong some where...? Appreciate a lot your thoughts...

 Hi Devs,

 Background
 -

 * Earlier, all the classes in the org.wso2.carbon.bridge package have
been exported to the OSGi environment. This bridge package was running in
 the Carbon webapp class space.
 * SystemRestarter class which is responsible for restarting Carbon, was
there in the bridge package. Carbon Core bundle invokes the
SystemRestarter.restart() to restart the system forcefully or
gracefully. This class is visible to Carbon core, because we have
exposed all classes in the bridge package.

 Current Situation

 * Now we are removing the webapp support from Carbon. Hence we are
moving all these utility classes to the org.wso2.carbon.server package. And
also we decided not expose the classes in org.wso2.carbon.server package
 into the OSGi environment.

Now in order to get this restart to work, the only solution I see is to
use reflection and invoke the SystemRestarter.restart method. If there are
no objections I will implement this.

 Thanks,
 Sameera.

if you do not specify this port, Tribes automatically picks an available
port in the range of 4000-5000. So, you only have to comment out the

AFAIK, there is no such argument. This can be achieved using a property and
replacing it with the correct port during the configuration time.

Re: [Carbon-dev] Why dependencies does not build?

2012-02-22 Thread Thilina Buddhika
As per the output of the 'ls' command, it shows only target and
XmlSchema.iml. So the pom.xml file is not there which explains the error -
java.io.FileNotFoundException:
/home/chamara/Carbon/carbon/dependencies/XmlSchema/pom.xml (No such file or
directory) :)

Try checking out XMLSchema again to try to do an update.

[Carbon-dev] Is there a way to pass the 'localMemberPort' value in axis2.xml, as an argument to wso2server.sh?

2012-02-22 Thread Nirmal Fernando
Hi All,

$Subject?

AFAIS this is a requirement when we get many copies from a single server
image (each copy should have a different localMemberPort in order to join a
cluster).

Re: [Carbon-dev] Fixing Restart issue in WSO2 Carbon

2012-02-22 Thread Sameera Jayasoma
We ( Azeez, Pradeep and myself) had an offline discussion on this. This
complication comes only when the server is started in the wrapper mode.

Also there are plans to get rid of this wapper mode in the future, hence we
temporary ingore the wapper mode restart..

Thanks,
Sameera

Re: [Carbon-dev] Issue after installing features

2012-02-22 Thread Sameera Jayasoma
By looking at the error, it seems like we have done an API level change.
You are getting a NoSuchFieldError. If we have an API level change in patch
releases, then. I am not sure whether this is gonna work.

Thanks,
Sameera

Hi Pradeep,

I tried to install AS (carbon 3.2.2 based) features on top of GS (carbon

server, I'm getting the following error when I try to upload a file through
any of the file upload UI's. What can be the reason and is there are
workaround?

Yeah I think Jettison expects a root element for it to be able to properly
convert from JSON to XML.

[Carbon-dev] JSON to SOAP conversion in WSO2 ESB

2012-02-22 Thread Prabath Siriwardena
Tried out some json stuff with the ESB latest release.. and following
what I observed...

The original json message which I want to send is following..

{"name" : "Understanding JAVA" , "pages" : "100"}

When I sent this - this is the SOAP body I observed inside the ESB..

http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/";>Understanding
JAVA

You will notice that - "pages" element is missing there..

When I reformat my json message to the following - with a top, parent
element it worked fine..

{ "request" :{"name" : "Understanding JAVA" , "pages" : "100"}}

and the SOAP body produced was...

http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/";>Understanding
JAVA100

Any thoughts.. on the behavior of the first scenario ?

Re: [Carbon-dev] Failure to install dashboard feature...

2012-02-22 Thread Achala Aponso
Hi,

package "com.google.common.cache" is not available with the guava version
which is currently used by us. Therefore, I have upgraded to guava 11.0.1
(was discussed in carbon-dev). All the build errors are fixed and GS builds
successfully. Please take a svn update. Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

Thanks,

[Carbon-dev] Review on Agent Component

2012-02-22 Thread Suhothayan Sriskandarajah
I have implemented the Agent component which will be used to send events of
the Common Event Model via Thrift across the Carbon platform.
This contains both client (Agent) and server (AgentServer), and uses SSL
over Thrift to authenticate the connection between them.

Please suggest a date and time for review on this component.

Regards
Suho

This is fixed in r121211. This has occurred due to the removing of
slf4j dependency from carbon utils. now it is added to component pom file.

[Carbon-dev] Failure to install dashboard feature...

2012-02-22 Thread Tharindu Mathew
Hi,

I presume this is because of the changes in the shindig bundle. The google

Can someone take a look?

Installation failed.Cannot complete the install because one or more
required items could not be found.

Hi Leslier.

The problem it´s not inside eclipse. Eclipse is just for develop time. The
problem is inside BPS, you need to check if this jar is include in the
distribution, Denis say yes, so it could be a problem in BPS. Can you send
me the deploy artifact o your process?

@Harshana, WSS4J jar is already available at repository/components/plugins.
So the problem is not properly setting the classpath from eclipse?

@Denis,

Setting classpaths in Eclipse is only for the availability of the class at
the development time inside Eclipse. It has nothing to do with the runtime
availability of the class since we don't ship any jars in deployable Bpel
archives. So it cannot be the issue.

For some reason, Bpel engine cannot locate the class in the classpath. May
be doing an OSGi debug (packages command) would help?

Re: [Carbon-dev] Excel Mediator

2012-02-22 Thread Hiranya Jayathilaka
We don't have anything OOTB. But Data Services Server is capable of
exposing spreadsheets at services which can then be invoked through ESB.
Alternatively you can develop a mediator/message builder for spreadsheets
using Apache POI libraries.

[Carbon-dev] Fixing Restart issue in WSO2 Carbon

2012-02-22 Thread Sameera Jayasoma
Hi Devs,

Background
-

* Earlier, all the classes in the org.wso2.carbon.bridge package have been
exported to the OSGi environment. This bridge package was running in the
Carbon webapp class space.
* SystemRestarter class which is responsible for restarting Carbon, was
there in the bridge package. Carbon Core bundle invokes the
SystemRestarter.restart() to restart the system forcefully or
gracefully. This class is visible to Carbon core, because we have
exposed all classes in the bridge package.

Current Situation

* Now we are removing the webapp support from Carbon. Hence we are moving
all these utility classes to the org.wso2.carbon.server package. And also
we decided not expose the classes in org.wso2.carbon.server package into
the OSGi environment.

Now in order to get this restart to work, the only solution I see is to use
reflection and invoke the SystemRestarter.restart method. If there are no
objections I will implement this.

Thanks,
Sameera.

Re: [Carbon-dev] [Stratos-dev] Make system statistics component cluster aware

2012-02-22 Thread Tharindu Mathew
Please preserve the individual node stats as well. Otherwise it may affect
user experience.

 Hi Azeez,

Wouldn't we lost the ability to view statistics from a single node when
we do this? Different nodes showing different statistics is ok.

To view cluster wise, we are using BAM as a point for cluster
monitoring. We have done a sample on handling this aspect from the BAM
side, where we aggregate and show cluster wise.

The StatisticsPublishers (or the new agents) will continue to publish stats
at the node level to BAM sever.

Re: [Carbon-dev] [Stratos-dev] Make system statistics component cluster aware

2012-02-22 Thread Tharindu Mathew
So, this means that the original statistics will not be altered. It is just
the presentation that will change. If I want to obtain statistics of the
individual node from the backend I can still get that.

Is this correct?

If this is the case, it should preserve the individual stats while adding
in cluster wide stats. Some users maybe interested in individual node stats
as well.
