Scraping Assistant would be an added advantage, if some one use web
harvest as the data source. That will helpful for such a user to write his
configuration easily. That was the reason behind to add it. On the other
hand yeah, user can install Scraping Assistant Feature separately if he wish

 Hi all,

After adding DS features into AS, I found that the Scrapping Assistant
tool is installed with the DS features. According to Sumesha, this tool is
used by DS features. So this tool should be providing some generic
functionality. But when I have a look at the user guide of this tool, it
specifically talks about Mashups. So the user guide should be updated to
provide the generic idea behind the tool.

And also, have we documented how this tool is used in DS? If not, I
think we have to add a doc on that.

 Thanks,

Re: [Carbon-dev] Scraping Assistant Tool in DSS and AS

2011-04-25 Thread Kalpanie Wanigaratne
Hi,

On Tue, Apr 26, 2011 at 10:16 AM, Afkham Azeez az...@wso2.com wrote:

Can we separate Scraping Assistant from DS feature? It doesn't seem proper
for that tool to get automatically added when DS feature is installed.

Scraping Assistant would be an added advantage, if some one use web harvest
as the data source. That will helpful for such a user to write his
configuration easily. That was the reason behind to add it. On the other
hand yeah, user can install Scraping Assistant Feature separately if he wish
so. Ok, i will separate it from DS feature.

Thanks

Kalpanie.

If not, I think
we have to add a doc on that.

 Thanks,
 ~Isuru

Re: [Carbon-dev] The latest DSS pack is unusable

Hi,

Seems i had commit the patch during the build process, now DATASOURCE_ID has
removed from the addDataSourcePage. Therefore this will work fine in next
pack.

This is bit of my fault, since me and Dinusha did this in two parts. I
changed some things in the backend and committed, which effectively broke
some in the UI, then only Dinusha did the UI fixes. So I'm guessing,
possibly QA picked up a pack in the middle of this transition.

We got the packs from builder
 http://10.100.1.43/~carbon/releases/carbon/3.2.0/latest/latest/latest/
It seems we need a solution like selenium to capture these jsp issues
 automatically.

For the moment i have included this in the
product/lib/core/WEB-INF/web.xml and i created a UI component by pointing
the link in component.xml to h2console. But then the console opens in a
separate page. (It does not open the page, inside our normal web page).

Also when considering this as a component, this approach is wrong
because the web.xml entry resides inside the product. I don't have any
 clue,
where to put the servlet entry inside the component. Can any one please
 give
 an idea to do this?

So you register this console as a separate servlet right? Then I don't
think you can open this console within the carbon ui framework.

Grab the OSGi HTTPService and register your servlet into that service.

+1. We've done that for the Atom/jUDDI servlets etc in G-Reg.

 Thanks,
 Senaka.

Yap, we are doing the same thing when registering shindig servlets. Also
feel this is quite a useful feature, is there a possibility that we can plug
a common database explorer (not specific to H2), so any of the connected
databases can be explored within our mgt console.

Thanks every one. Yes nuwan, H2 console is a common database explorer, where
it supports to connect not only to H2 database, but also to many databases.

 Regards,
 /Nuwan

Is there any possibility to register this console servlet inside the
OSGi framework using the OSGi http service.

 Thanks
 Sameera

 Thanks.

[Carbon-dev] Making H2 Console as a carbon component

2011-03-08 Thread Kalpanie Wanigaratne
Hi,

I'm going to do the $subject and in order to do it, it needs to add the
following configuration to the web.xml.

servlet
servlet-nameH2Console/servlet-name
servlet-classorg.h2.server.web.WebServlet/servlet-class
load-on-startup1/load-on-startup
/servlet
servlet-mapping
servlet-nameH2Console/servlet-name
url-pattern/console/*/url-pattern
/servlet-mapping

For the moment i have included this in the product/lib/core/WEB-INF/web.xml
and i created a UI component by pointing the link in component.xml to
h2console. But then the console opens in a separate page. (It does not open
the page, inside our normal web page).

Also when considering this as a component, this approach is wrong because
the web.xml entry resides inside the product. I don't have any clue, where
to put the servlet entry inside the component. Can any one please give an
idea to do this?

Thanks.

So you register this console as a separate servlet right? Then I don't
think you can open this console within the carbon ui framework.

Yea. That's the thing.

Is there any possibility to register this console servlet inside the OSGi
framework using the OSGi http service.

Will try this and see. Thanks a lot sameera.

 Thanks

Re: [Carbon-dev] DS code review

2010-05-26 Thread Kalpanie Wanigaratne
Hi,

Code review notes for Data Services Component :

   - DBConstants class must be public static final class, and make
others as inner classes. Put a private constructor in DBConstants class.
   - Rename the Work In Progress button into some other meaningful name.
   - Keep a space before the brackets in page titles.
   - In DBDeployer class, make createDBService as a private method.
   - Put DBDeployer.createDataServiceObject into a factory class.
   - Make java docs more detailed.
   - Use for loops rather using Iterators and while loops.
   - Variable names should be descriptive.
   - Fix the Eventing un-subscription issue.
   - Cleanup Exception handling.
   - No need to internationalize the server side exceptions.
   - Starting a thread per faulty service deployment should change.
There should be a single timer and different timer tasks, better if make it
inside CarbonUtil to reuse in other components.

Code review will be continue on data services message dispatching in next
week session.

Thanks.

 Hi,

Tomorrow (20'th) we are having code reviews for the data services
 component.

We will be covering some of the features in the data services core
 module. They are,

 * Data Service deployment.
 * General flow of execution for a data service request.
 * Streaming Support.
 * Boxcarring.
 * Batch Requests.

Here I'm attaching the find bugs report associated with the core
module, test classes and code-generated stubs are excluded.

 Cheers,

Re: [Carbon-dev] trunk svn checkout fails

2010-05-19 Thread Kalpanie Wanigaratne
Hi Miyuru,

I also came across with the same issue and chamith's solution was to switch
it to https://svn.wso2.org. Use the command svn switch --relocate
old_location new_location.

Eg:

svn switch --relocate
https://wso2.org/repos/wso2/trunk/carbon/core/org.wso2.carbon.user.core/src/test/resources
https://svn.wso2.org/repos/wso2/trunk/carbon/core/org.wso2.carbon.user.core/src/test/resourceshttps://wso2.org/repos/wso2/trunk/carbon/core/org.wso2.carbon.user.core/src/test/resources

 Hi all,

Please add the user-core documentation to your products. This is already
 added to WSO2IS.

 1) Add an svn external and copy the files into xdocs. This is how we did

 3) Then exclude the sample xmls from being converted to html by maven site
 plugin.

 4) Straight away copy to the docs distribution. This is how we did it in
