[Carbon-dev] Build failure - trunk features

2011-02-24 Thread Afkham Azeez
I started building with a clean M2 repo. I was able to successfully build,
dependencies, orbit, core and components. When I tried to build the
features, I get the following error:

[ERROR] BUILD ERROR
[INFO]

[INFO] ERROR

Embedded error: System is offline.

Try downloading the file manually from the project website.

Then, install it using the command:
mvn install:install-file -DgroupId=org.wso2.carbon
-DartifactId=org.wso2.carbon.event.sink -Dversion=3.2.0-SNAPSHOT
-Dpackaging=jar -Dfile=/path/to/file

Alternatively, if you host your own repository you can deploy the file
there:
mvn deploy:deploy-file -DgroupId=org.wso2.carbon
-DartifactId=org.wso2.carbon.event.sink -Dversion=3.2.0-SNAPSHOT
-Dpackaging=jar -Dfile=/path/to/file -Durl=[url] -DrepositoryId=[id]

  org.wso2.carbon:org.wso2.carbon.event.sink:jar:3.2.0-SNAPSHOT

What ca be the reason?

Sorry, by there has been a delay between the time I took the components
update and the features update. This was the reason for the failure.

Re: [Carbon-dev] Build failure - trunk features

2011-02-24 Thread Afkham Azeez
Seems like whoever added this component today has either not built or had
not committed the changes to the messagebox component. With this kind of
indiscipline, we will never be able to have a successful build.

Re: [Carbon-dev] Build failure - trunk features

2011-02-24 Thread Afkham Azeez
Is this the correct thing to do? If so, why hasn't it been added to the root
pom.xml file and committed? Are people making these local changes and
keeping it to themselves?

The rationale behind this is, if we include a repository to a maven pom,
maven checks and download dependencies from the set of repos. But if the
artifact is a maven plugin (which is in this case, maven aar plugin) it does
not try download from the given repositories unless we specifically say this
using this pluginRepositories tag.

We faced this during the Shopping-Cart sample compilation.

We should depend only on Axis2 1.6.1-SNAPSHOT in Current trunk.

[ Also on a side note, Axis2 trunk version is 1.7.0-SNAPSHOT, not SNAPSHOT
anymore. ]
