Still we dont have directory based deployment (in tomcat). once thats in
place this usability issue will go away. it's in AS TODO list, for next
milestone. for this one we will have to bare with it.

+1, also you can use, the try-it feature (In docs/) to try things out.
Currently the source is in the .war archive once we get rid of that,
sources will be in the jaggery app directory, in its own context dir.

I tried out try-it too. And I reported some improvements etc. Specially,
try-it is limited in that, I cannot set incoming request prams etc.

I tried extracting war. And modifying it and re-packing, on Windows. I
cannot get it to work. There seem to be an issue.

I also tried with command line client and I ran into bunch of issues on
Windows. I have reported those too. Basically, I have bombarded the Jira
and more to come :)

hi,

I tried out try-it too. And I reported some improvements etc. Specially,
try-it is limited in that, I cannot set incoming request prams etc.
*Yap*, Currently we can't pass parms in try it and it is limit, *We will put
* text box near to try it button where user can pass parms for his try it,

I tried extracting war. And modifying it and re-packing, on Windows. I
cannot get it to work. There seem to be an issue.
*Yap*, we can change the war file and it will work with restart server. But
I think You are pointing to Changing war in run time.

(We can change war *with out extracting* normally with use of winrar, But
in here we can not do it)
*Why *we cant change war in run time, because When server starting it mark
docs.war to server process(jaggery).
We cant change/or Modify a file (.war) that is used in another process in
windows (Tested in Windows 7 with using winrar)

*Overcome: It can change with extract (Tested windows 7)*

   - Extract the .war file
   - Go to the folder do the changes in any files save it
   - Then zip it under root Folder (If you miss this level ziping you will
be get error such as *The requested resource (/docs/documentation.jss)
   is not available.* )
   - Rename zip to .war
   - past it then it deploy and work

- if any issue let me know.

thank you all for pointing these issues it will help us to improve *jaggery*
.
Thank you,

Nop, I copied the sample war to a local folder and renamed and hacked it

I deployed my hacked-up version as a new app.

I tried out try-it too. And I reported some improvements etc.
Specially, try-it is limited in that, I cannot set incoming request prams
 etc.

I tried extracting war. And modifying it and re-packing, on Windows. I
cannot get it to work. There seem to be an issue.

I also tried with command line client and I ran into bunch of issues on
Windows. I have reported those too. Basically, I have bombarded the Jira
 and more to come :)

*Yap*, we can change the war file and it will work with restart

+1 - also I guess we need to have an in-built editor - change the file on
the editor - save - results reflected..
