[cayugabirds-l] PALM WARBLER

2011-04-14 Thread Jill Vaughan
This morning at about 6:45, the PALM WARBLER entertained (singing, tail
wagging, hopping about) for several minutes among the bushes east of the
Swan Pen at Stewart Park. I walked around the pen, and it was still there
when I returned and enjoyed it for quite a while again. Jill Vaughan

[cayugabirds-l] New arrivals

2011-04-14 Thread Carol Keeler
When I walked up to get my paper this morning I heard the resident meadowlark
singing and saw the tree swallows zooming about. The swallows nest in my
birdhouses. Everyone needs resident mosquito eaters.

[cayugabirds-l] New subscriber, east shore Seneca Lake, Fayette NY

2011-04-14 Thread Mark Miller
Hi, I know it's not Cayuga basin but thought I'd mention a couple finds this
morning:

Besides the resident 2-3 pair of Buffleheads, had 4 Red-breasted Mergansers (3
female, 1 male) moving
south down the lake about a mile south of 96A/East Rd junction. Also had a
single Barn Swallow, a very
active Ruby-crowned Kinglet, and a very pale Dark-eyed Junco (almost brownish
color?).
