I hesitate to post this, but I was birding SSW this morning (around 8:15am) and
at the Podell boardwalk along the Wilson trail, I saw high up in a dead tree
snag what looked like a juvenile Red-headed woodpecker: distinct white
secondaries, very white underneath when it flew and a brownish/dark head and
neck.Have juvenile RHWs been seen at SSW recently?

Our Southern Adirondack Audubon chapter has constructed many of these and
mounted them in dozens of local fishing spots and boat launches. It has
been well received. If you have any questions I can put you in touch with
