[cayugabirds-l] David Cup again
So it appears that there are no rules for this that are easily available. I remember a few years ago someone wrote some rules that were posted on this list. It defined the region, it said that hearing by ear was OK to list; I think it said that, as I remember, that if one saw a Horned Screamer that they had to tell the group about it; and I remember something about a correction factor of some kind. I would like to have some formal definition of the rules for the next issue of the bird club newsletter. Perhaps if there are no formal rules, then those who are playing might get together and arrive at some consensus. I think this copy of the original 1995 rules is what you want, Richard: http://people.mbi.ohio-state.edu/hurtado.10/cup_rules.html -Geo Kloppel -- Cayugabirds-L List Info: http://www.NortheastBirding.com/CayugabirdsWELCOME http://www.NortheastBirding.com/CayugabirdsRULES http://www.NortheastBirding.com/CayugabirdsSubscribeConfigurationLeave.htm ARCHIVES: 1) http://www.mail-archive.com/cayugabirds-l@cornell.edu/maillist.html 2) http://www.surfbirds.com/birdingmail/Group/Cayugabirds 3) http://birdingonthe.net/mailinglists/CAYU.html Please submit your observations to eBird: http://ebird.org/content/ebird/ --

I had forgotten that 98% rule! Thanks for reminding! Do the current cup members follow this rule? [cayugabirds-l] Cayuga Bird Club Field Trip
Hey All, An invitation to join Bill Baker on Sunday for a half day field trip to where ever the birds may be, or are thought to be. Meet at the Laboratory of Ornithology parking lot at 8 AM. Bill is copied here, please contact him for details if you need to. All are welcome to join Bill regardless of membership status or level of expertise. It is always a good idea to bring your scope if you have one in the eventuality that water birding is involved Please note that Sunday is predicted to be an extremely cold day, especially at the start. Dress very, very warmly, more layers than you ever thought you might need. Don't forget that birding involves much standing around and looking. As always, please check our website Cayugabirdclub.org, for the most up-to-date information about events. Hope you can make it.
