[cayugabirds-l] common grackles

After it rained leaves, then hail this afternoon, we now have Common Grackles 
raining down on the bird feeders. 50+ birds - quite noisy and quite hungry!

Enlighten me:  I thought GHO courted in January.  If they are courting in
October, won't the females be brooding and then raising owlets in the
middle of winter?
