Re: [cayugabirds-l] Least Bittern at SSW

Hi All,
Not a least bitten, but I saw a green heron in just about that location (flew
into the trees at the back of the first pond) a couple of weeks ago.

Re: [cayugabirds-l] Ithaca Ospreys, and other stuff

Yes on the nest at Dryden lake. I've been taking pix of their nest building
over the past few weeks. One is banded on both legs, one blue band and one
silver band. It's a pretty small nest, in the pine trees.

At 10:45 the black vultures were in some trees just south of the bridge on
Dodge Rd. They then flew into the pheasant farm just in front of the little hut
facing Stevenson Rd. They were still there at 11:15.

It turns out that I was mistaken. Dave Nutter was kind enough to let me know
that what I had seen was a immature bald eagle.

I may have taken pictures of the juvenile golden eagle that Mark Chao saw in
Lansing, or another one on Dodge road this morning at about 10:45 am. It was
perched and fairly far away but seems to fit the description. I'm happy to send
a picture to anyone who can identify better than I can. I'll post it here also
