Jan. 23, Thursday, 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Cayuga Lake Birding Van Tour Cayuga Lake is an Audubon designated Important Bird Area because of the incredible number of waterfowl that use the lake during winter and migration seasons. Hop in the Montezuma Audubon Center van for an excursion to the northern part of the lake where up to 30 species of ducks, geese and swans can be seen. Bald eagles and snowy owls are a possibility too! Participants are encouraged to bring their camera. Fee: $8/child; $13.50/adult. Jan. 25, Saturday, 3:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. Owl Prowl Live owls will be on display during an indoor presentation with Jean Soprano of the Kindred Kingdoms Wildlife Rehabilitation Center. You’ll find out what adaptations these birds have that allow them to be successful hunters of the night. Then, join the Montezuma Audubon Center staff to search for snowy owls and the endangered short-eared owls in the grasslands around Montezuma. Fee: $6/child, $8/adult, $25/family.
