[OSL | CCIE_Voice] Help on IPExpert Lab5

2008-05-28 Thread Hardesty, Scott
I am working on lab 5 of the IPExpert workbook and I can not seem to get
audio to cut through when initiating a call from an HQ IP Phone to the
ATA. The ATA is registered as a terminal to the GK. When calling from
the HQ phone, the ATA rings and when answered, ringback stops on the IP
phone so signaling seems to be working properly but the audio path never
gets established.

Any guidance on this would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi Scott

If you are using IPIPGW, try configure the H225 Trunk in the CCM with
the following

- Media Termination Point Required : Checked

- Retry Video Call as Audio : Checked

- Wait for Far End H.245 Terminal Capability Set : Uncheked

Also, ensure you have disabled the proxy in the gatekeeper configuration
with:

No use-proxy ATA-GK default inbound-to-terminal

No use-proxy ATA-GK default outbound-from-terminal

Hello Ovais, I just checked your config.
?
What I see is that you are missing some parameters in the service ,at
least for the moment I see the ?param voicemail? missing in the aa
service, If you don?t configure it the service doesn?t work.
?
I recommend you to copypaste the example config in the readme file
located in the flash, and try to use all the parameters in that example.

Thanks for assisting, the config is attached. There may be some

You will see Incoming Called Number as well as Destination-Pattern

Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Unity 4.0(5) - VM Selection

2008-05-28 Thread Devildoc

Another way to achieve this is as followed:

1. Configured a customized VM Profile for the extension that you are going to
forward to call from.
2. Create a CTI RP to forward all to VM.
3. Create a Unity Call Handler and transfer the call to the intended
subscriber's VM.

For example, if i want to forward all calls from extension 1003 to the
voicemail of subscriber 2003, then I would do the followings:

1. I would create a VM profile named vm72xxx with mask 72xxx.
2. Configure my extension 1003 with the VM profile vm72xxx and forward all to
72003.
3. I would create a CTI RP with a pattern of 7 and forward all to VM.
4. On Unity, I would create a Call Handler with extension 72003. Under the
Greetings section, select Blank for source and After the greeting, send the
caller to Send to greeting for subscriber 2003.

That should do it!

I agree. It should suffice for the scope of the lab though. In real life you
could always do it on a gateway… still ugly though.

Thanks Gregory!I just tested your recommendation in my lab and it worked. The
only constrain is that due to is not valid to use wildcards in the CTI_RP, the
voicemail where the call is redirected will be fixed. Then it would be needed N
number of Pilot Points/CTI_RP for N number of phones in cases is required the
ability to forward the call to ANY voicemail. It would be nice to find a way to
avoid that.Have a good week-Original Message-From: Gregory Jost

had this working on 4.2 in my customer's environment, but hadn't tried it on

*1003 as Always Route Member.3. Associate PP and CTI RP to AC

Several questions in the practice and lab are not valid Real World examples.
Sometimes you need to not over think the question and just do what is asked. I
would simply apply a CSS to the device and nothing to the profile

hi,
regarding Q25.59: it asks to configure EM with 'the
user's calling restriction should be preserved'. Does that mean that HQ device
profile must have the same restriction as HQ phn2 (on which it will probably be
applied), and that BR2 device profile mimics the restrictions of BR1
phn2? This then also makes the assumption the user will not log into a HQ phone
with a BR1 device profile. Can anyone explain the question - as it doesn't make
much sense to me at the moment...
