[OSL | CCIE_Voice] Help on IPExpert Lab5
I am working on lab 5 of the IPExpert workbook and I can not seem to get audio to cut through when initiating a call from an HQ IP Phone to the ATA. The ATA is registered as a terminal to the GK. When calling from the HQ phone, the ATA rings and when answered, ringback stops on the IP phone so signaling seems to be working properly but the audio path never gets established. Any guidance on this would be appreciated. Thanks. . Scott Hardesty | Presidio Networked Solutions | E-mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] | Voice: 443-789-1219

Hi Scott If you are using IPIPGW, try configure the H225 Trunk in the CCM with the following - Media Termination Point Required : Checked - Retry Video Call as Audio : Checked - Wait for Far End H.245 Terminal Capability Set : Uncheked Also, ensure you have disabled the proxy in the gatekeeper configuration with: No use-proxy ATA-GK default inbound-to-terminal No use-proxy ATA-GK default outbound-from-terminal De: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] En nombre de Hardesty, Scott Enviado el: 28 May 2008 08:05 Para: ccie_voice@onlinestudylist.com Asunto: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Help on IPExpert Lab5 I am working on lab 5 of the IPExpert workbook and I can not seem to get audio to cut through when initiating a call from an HQ IP Phone to the ATA. Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Unity 4.0(5) - VM Selection
Another way to achieve this is as followed: 1. Configured a customized VM Profile for the extension that you are going to forward to call from. 2. Create a CTI RP to forward all to VM. 3. Create a Unity Call Handler and transfer the call to the intended subscriber's VM. For example, if i want to forward all calls from extension 1003 to the voicemail of subscriber 2003, then I would do the followings: 1. I would create a VM profile named vm72xxx with mask 72xxx. 2. Configure my extension 1003 with the VM profile vm72xxx and forward all to 72003. 3. I would create a CTI RP with a pattern of 7 and forward all to VM. 4. On Unity, I would create a Call Handler with extension 72003. Under the Greetings section, select Blank for source and After the greeting, send the caller to Send to greeting for subscriber 2003. That should do it! JD Date: Mon, 19 May 2008 12:44:11 -0700From: [EMAIL PROTECTED]: [EMAIL PROTECTED]: [EMAIL PROTECTED]: Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Unity 4.0(5) - VM Selection I agree. It should suffice for the scope of the lab though. In real life you could always do it on a gateway… still ugly though. The only constrain is that due to is not valid to use wildcards in the CTI_RP, the voicemail where the call is redirected will be fixed. Then it would be needed N number of Pilot Points/CTI_RP for N number of phones in cases is required the ability to forward the call to ANY voicemail. You can't use wildcards and the CTI RP isn't arbitrary (e.g. TCD isn't really redirecting to CTI RP). I had this working on 4.2 in my customer's environment, but hadn't tried it on 4.1 until now. Here's my lab config:1. Create CTI RP *1003 with VM mask and CFA to VM.2. Create PP 71003 and add *1003 as Always Route Member.3. Associate PP and CTI RP to AC user.4. Set Keep Original Called Party If Forwarded=False5. Ensure Reset Original Called Party on Redirect=True (default).6. Restart TCD service.Enjoy!Greg JostNetwork Consulting EngineerUnified Communications PracticeCisco Systems, Inc.214-274-1922From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Gregory Jost (grjost)Sent: Friday, May 16, 2008 4:49 PMTo: Christian NarvaezCc: [EMAIL PROTECTED]: Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Unity 4.0(5) - VM SelectionDid you rsetart TCD service? What's happening? If you still can't get it to work, make the PP explicit (e.g. 71001). When it overwrites the RDNIS, it may us the PP instead of the called party. Also, the pattern of the CTI RP is arbitrary, as the RDNIS is retained from the PP. -Original Message-From: Christian Narvaez [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]: Friday, May 16, 2008 12:45 PM Pacific Standard TimeTo: Gregory Jost (grjost)Cc: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:RE: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Unity 4.0(5) - VM SelectionThanks Gregory,Just to make sure I understood. If the phone registered to subscriber and the services URL is pointing to publisher then I get Host Not Found Error. If the phone is registered to pub then everything is alright. Is this normal?

Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Q25.59 : Extension Mobility
Several questions in the practice and lab are not valid Real World examples. Sometimes you need to not over think the question and just do what is asked. I would simply apply a CSS to the device and nothing to the profile Ed - Original Message From: Juan [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: OSL CCIE Voice Lab Exam ccie_voice@onlinestudylist.com Sent: Wednesday, May 28, 2008 1:19:33 PM Subject: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Q25.59 : Extension Mobility hi, regarding Q25.59: it asks to configure EM with 'the user's calling restriction should be preserved'. Does that mean that HQ device profile must have the same restriction as HQ phn2 (on which it will probably be applied), and that BR2 device profile mimics the restrictions of BR1 phn2? This then also makes the assumption the user will not log into a HQ phone with a BR1 device profile. Can anyone explain the question - as it doesn't make much sense to me at the moment... kind regards, Juan
