Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Presence, CUPS and CUPC

2011-07-23 Thread Vega Wong
Hi

Thanks for the advices,

I sort out the offline issue, it was because I didnt setup DNS for CUPC to
connect to CUPS. Once thats setup, IM works as well as Presence status.

Just one more thing, by manually adding the contact, I couldnt save the phone
number of the contact. That means I cant "place a call" to the contact in CUPC.
But it works when I use the phone control (in CUPC) and actually dial the
extension. Is this also due to not using ldap?

Cheers

Hi Vega,

You wrote:
"However, at the bottom of the CUPC, it always shown as
"Connected(limited)". Also, I cant search the contact within the CUPS.With
the contact added, it always shown as offline. "

Connected (Limited) seems to be normal behaviour in absense of LDAP.
If you have added contact from the User page in CUPS then it should be
working provided in CUCM you have done Line Association with the User. (that
is on DN page, select the device, press line Edit Line Appearance then at
the bottom of the page Associate End User).

You have the option to connect it on a FE port on the router but it would
required a power brick, as proctor lab topology the PSTN and the Phone are

Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Restoring services

2011-07-23 Thread Bill Lake
I think I might not have been clear about what I am asking

If a service under device | device settings | phone services is missing like
Voice Mail then you won't be able to press the VM button to access it. To
restore the service you have to ssh into the pub and run a command from
memory or cut and paste, I would cut and paste : )

run sql insert into telecasterservice
(pkid,Name,NameASCII,Description,URLTemplate,tkPhoneService,EnterpriseSubscription,Priority)
values('ca69f2e4-d088-47f8-acb2-ceea6722272e','Voicemail','Voicemail','Voicemail','Application:Cisco/Voicemail',2,'t',1)

from release notes for cucm 7.0.1

[OSL | CCIE_Voice] Restoring services

2011-07-23 Thread Bill Lake
Hey Everyone,

I always have a hard time finding the right spot in the document to restore
a service in CUCM. Right now my strategy is to go to the release notes and
search for telecaster.

So from what I have read and been told we have access to this website but I
have read conflicting reports if we can use the search feature, not sure how
that wouldn't work but I do think about it.

Well hopefully this is a good plan for this, hate to get on the lab, be
panicking because something doesn't work, only have to cut and paste this in
to fix it and not be able to find it because my plan goes all to heck. So if
you have a better or alternative plan, I am very happy to hear it.
