Hello Anthony ,

You cannot Transcode call that Hit Dial peer with Voice class codec ,
it make sense as the router though that he can support Both codecs

I hope this clarify the issue you saw

Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Problem with Multicast MOH from router flash

2011-11-30 Thread Rynard Coetzee
Hi William
You were spot on ,I added a voice class codec to my voip dial-peers with G729
as 1st priority and g711 as 2nd priority and now it is working 100%. And I can
see the multicast session on my gateway. My understanding was that the voip
dial-peers to CUCM is only used in the signalling path ,once the RTP session
gets established the call is between the 2 endpoints ,in the case of a PSTN
call the BR1 gateway and the BR1 phone ?
Thanks to everyone for their responses on this.

Make sure that you configured the codec under the dial peers on BR1. They use
g729 by default. Sounds like the dial-peers to call manager from BR1 don't have
a voice class codec or are a hard set codec configured.

Hi Gurpeet
Thanks for the reply ,I have checked the perf query class on the CCM and it
also shows 0 multicast sessions ,I actually have a ACL on my router that blocks
port 16384 from the CUCM to the branch router. I have also checked all the
other things you mentioned numerous times and they are all setup correctly
,this is the reason why I am confused at this stage.

Hi Rynard,

Check the following:

1) When you put the BR1 phone on hold, ssh into your CCM server and run the
command, "show perf query class "Cisco MOH Device" and check if it shows
Multicast Sessions as 1 which would mean an active multicast session.

If the value is 1, then the multicast music is played from the CCM and not the
router.

2) For the PSTN Calls, check:

a) If the Branch router and the Branch site phones are assigned the correct
device pool?
b) Max hops on the MOH server should be set to 1.
c) Region setting between the MOH region if created and applied on the Device
Pool for the MOH server should be G711.
d) The MRGL applied on the Branch phones should contain the Multicast MOH
server.

Very strange: I can now get both inbound and outbound calls to CME SIP
working with transcoder invoked at BR2-RTR. I cannot use "voice-class codec

This surprises me: why would voice class codec hurt the task?

voice class codec 1
 codec pref 1 g729r8
 codec pref 2 g711ulaw

If I put this under any of the dial-peers it breaks CME SIP.

Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Question about Called Number displayed on phone.

2011-11-30 Thread Anthony Alba
The IOS gateway cam also use H.225 back to CUCM to affect the Called Number
display.

Amy covers this in the audio: if you want to control the display on the
phone, then do manipulation at the RP, even though this DM may be trumped
by RL details. You also have to disable the H.225 notification on the IOS
gateway back to CUCM or this will overwrite the called number.

Thanks, now do you guys know if this is going to be addressed in later
revisions of CUCM (8.x) OR changing from H323 to SIP would help?

OR may be its just the way MTP behaves and you just can't support MMoH with

Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Need help understanding this behavior

2011-11-30 Thread Mohammed Al Baqari
Guys,

MMoH isn't supported as per Cisco when MTP is invoked. Instead you will hear
ToH.

"The following restriction exists for multicast music on hold (MOH) when a
media termination point (MTP) is invoked. When an MTP resource gets invoked
in a call leg at a site that is using multicast MOH, the caller receives
silence instead of music on hold. To avoid this scenario, configure unicast
MOH or Tone on Hold instead of multicast MOH."

Divin is right. MTP doesnt support connecting to a multicast stream, so it
would make sense CUCM converts it to a unicast stream.

I think this is normal behaviour. MULTICAST MOH cannot go thru MTP. as in
the MTP cannot re-originate the stream. CUCM uses Unicast MOH instead. At
least in the lab scenario, try not to check MTP box.

Hello,

I know, that the multicast MoH is not supported when the MTP is check in the

Only G711U is activated for MoH (default).

I have a SIP Trunk towards CUCME, this SIP Trunk is in G729 Region, so that

So the SIP Trunk is assigned the SIP_Trunk_Region (Through DP) and the IP
Phones along with the MoH Server are assigned the HQ_Region.

Also I have an G729 MTP on a Router, which is assigned the MTP_Region (Which

Transcoder is assigne the HQ_Region.

So when I call the SIP Trunk (CUCME IP Phones) the call is successful and

MTP Required Checkbox.

But when I press the Hold key on the CUCM IP Phone, the CUCME IP Phone hears
a Beeps instead of MoH Music.

I cannot get how to make transcoder to transcode the MoH from G711 to G729,
so that the MTP will be also used on the SIP Trunk.

BTW, when I remove the MTP Required from the SIP Trunk, the MoH is
transcoded, and the remote IP Phone (CUCME) can hear the music.

But I want to have an MTP checked as well, and in this case the MoH music
does not play. (Only Beeps).

Please help me.

Bit confusing. Why do you need XCODE. From HQ_Region (MoH server) to

Rynard,

Check the bandwidth assigned to this location against
the DP for the MOH server. Make sure at least its enough for 1 stream
in G711

Additionally having the loopback before the voice interface in the route
statement has proven to have issues.

Changes suggested:

no Ccm-manager music-on-hold
Ccm-manager music-on-hold "voice interface" (bound to the voice int)

no Multicast moh 239.1.1.1 port 16384 route 10.10.110.2 (loopback) 10.10.201.1
(Voice Int)
Multicast moh 239.1.1.1 port 16384 route 10.10.201.1 (Voice Int) 10.10.110.2
(loopback)

Let us know how it goes

Another way to do this is on the gatekeeper configure:

no zone subnet ZONE default enable
zone subnet ZONE
enable

this will prevent gateways from registering to GK automatically and only
allow gateways on the subnet which you have specified, to register to GK

Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] CCIE_Voice Digest, Vol 69, Issue 208

2011-11-30 Thread Jonathan Monestel

Rynard,

Check the bandwithd assigned to this location against the DP for the MOH
server. Make sure at least its enough for a1 stream in G711

Additionally having the loopback before the voice interface in the route
statement has proven to have issues.

Changes suggested:

no Ccm-manager music-on-hold
Ccm-manager music-on-hold "voice interface"

no Multicast moh 239.1.1.1 port 16384 route 10.10.110.2 (loopback) 10.10.201.1
(Voice Int)
Multicast moh 239.1.1.1 port 16384 route 10.10.201.1 (Voice Int) 10.10.110.2
(loopback)

Let us know how it goes

I'm trying to add a second language to an AIM-CUE.

I use the command "software install add url ftp://x.x.x.x/xyz.pkg
and it seems to run without a problem but when it finishes processing the
file,

I get the follow message :

You can use "software uninstall" to remove add-ons.

ui_install scripts executed successfully.

The issue is if I run "Show software licenses" , it indicates a max of 2

[OSL | CCIE_Voice] Need Help with MoH

2011-11-30 Thread datucha123 datucha123
Hello,

I am facing a Problem with MoH over the SIP/H323 Trunk with MTP.

I know, that the multicast MoH is not supported when the MTP is check in
the H323 gateway, but I have a problem with Unicast MoH with transcoding.

But I have the following configuration.

Only G711U is activated for MoH (default).

I have a SIP Trunk towards CUCME, this SIP Trunk is in G729 Region, so that
this Region is using G729 to CUCM IP Phones, and to MoH regions as well:

So I have
HQ_Region - G711 Inside and G729 to SIP_Trunk_Region.
SIP_Trunk_Region - G711 inside and G729 to HQ_Region.

So the SIP Trunk is assigned the SIP_Trunk_Region (Through DP) and the IP
Phones along with the MoH Server are assigned the HQ_Region.

Also I have an G729 MTP on a Router, which is assigned the MTP_Region
(Which is using G729 to all other Regions).
Transcoder is assigne the HQ_Region.

So when I call the SIP Trunk (CUCME IP Phones) the call is successful and
negotiated codec is G729, and MTP is also allocated, as I have checked the
MTP Required Checkbox.

But when I press the Hold key on the CUCM IP Phone, the CUCME IP Phone
hears a Beeps instead of MoH Music.

Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Problem with Multicast MOH from router flash

2011-11-30 Thread William Affeldt
Make sure that you configured the codec under the dial peers on BR1. They use
g729 by default. Sounds like the dial-peers to call manager from BR1 don't have
a voice class codec or are a hard set codec configured.

Hi All this is a bit off topic, but I got ripped off on Ebay with a dead 7961

find out the dead 7961 has a bad display also. Does anyone know if a 7940/60

still going for 50.00. Thanks,Mike

Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Problem with Multicast MOH from router flash

2011-11-30 Thread Gurpreet Singh Kukreja
Hi Rynard,

Check the following:

1) When you put the BR1 phone on hold, ssh into your CCM server and run the
command, "show perf query class "Cisco MOH Device" and check if it shows
Multicast Sessions as 1 which would mean an active multicast session.

If the value is 1, then the multicast music is played from the CCM and not
the router.

2) For the PSTN Calls, check:

a) If the Branch router and the Branch site phones are assigned the correct
device pool?
b) Max hops on the MOH server should be set to 1.
c) Region setting between the MOH region if created and applied on the
Device Pool for the MOH server should be G711.
d) The MRGL applied on the Branch phones should contain the Multicast MOH
server.

HTH

Hi Ken,

On the BR1 router, enter command, "no gateway" and see if that helps.

[OSL | CCIE_Voice] H323 GW & GK

2011-11-30 Thread Ken Wyan
I have this scenario.

I want to register BR1 router as h323 gateway to CUCM. In addition HQ
Router is configured as a Gatekeeper as well , but I don't want BR1 gateway
to register with GK.

For that I configure below (on BR1 Router)

int xxx
h323-gateway voip interface
h323-gateway voip bind srcaddr x.x.x.x

gateway

But I noticed BR1 registers with HQ gatekeeper ( eventhough I didn't
configure for it )

How can I configure gatekeeper to reject registration request from BR1?

( I configured GK as per IPExpert BLS solutions)

Thanks
