[OSL | CCIE_Voice] CUCM LDAP filters

2013-06-03 Thread Daniel Gomez
Hello experts,

I was wondering if anyone has experience with CUCM LDAP filter syntax.

I'm trying to make CUCM 8.6 just to get users with phone numbers starting with
8500, 8505, 8514 and 8800 to perform a demo.

I created the following filter:

(&(ipPhone=8500*)(ipPhone=8505*)(ipPhone=514*)(ipPhone=8800*)

It seems to work but not entirely as expected as CUCM is importing users with
no number configured.

Could the syntax of my filter be the issue?? I understand I'm creating a rule
saying any of the conditions must be considered.

Any advise would be really appreciated

Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] H323 fast start question

2013-06-03 Thread Ramcharan Arya
According my interpretation If requirement say "collecting CUCM traces"
then you might want to think about using RTMT tool for logs.

Debug h225 ans1 command you can run output on IOS router which does not
gives an output from CUCM trace.

Karen,

Try going to http://172.120.64.10:6970/sb.txt

If that doesn't work, check http://172.160.64.10:6970/filelist.txt to see if
that file is even listed.

Thanks,
Brian

Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] CCIE Collaberation

2013-06-03 Thread Bill Lake
Right you can continue to pass written exams and prove you are current with
technology. But what will you do when you apply for a job that requires or
desires CCIE Collaboration? CCIE voice will join the CCIE's of the pass
that were retired, you will still be a CCIE but you will be considered less
important because your CCIE is on outdated technology, like CCIE ISP Dial
or CCIE SNA/IP integration do you see anyone asking for them now?

So I would prefer to have a grandfather or upgrade path instead of having
to take the CCIE Collaboration exam

For those that say why not just get dual CCIE with CCIE Collaboration as it
should be easy, name the people who say their CCIE was easy and would
gladly pay 1500 more to take it again just to renew their current CCIE.

No if I want to get a dual CCIE, I want to earn it in another track, not
another voice or communications centric track

Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] IE voice retired

2013-06-03 Thread Bill Lake
That is good, now what is the value of CCIE ISP Dial when he goes for
another job? Or how about when a customer asks specifically do you have a
CCIE Collaboration?

There is also a huge difference between the retired CCIE ISP dial and
Voice; ISP dial is untenable as a CCIE track it has been replaced as a
technology. CCIE Voice is still exceedingly relevant and is most of the
new CCIE Collaboration, sure you got video but isn't voice part of a
video? Anyone watching silent movies or making them very often anymore?
Why, because communication or collaboration in general require speech to
supply the best experience.

It just means that the CCIE Voice is considered to be a separate IE from

Wonder what this means

The CCIE Collaboration certification does not directly affect current CCIE
Voice certification holders. Current CCIE Voice holders will be able to
recertify by passing any CCIE exam including the new CCIE Collaboration written
or lab exams.

The CCIE Collaboration certification provides new career opportunities for CCIE
Voice certification holders

Nice work, Josh! I've been forwarding to everyone I know in the industry

As far as current IE contact info, I'm sure IPExpert has a pretty nice list
of IE's on file :-). Do they ever send out 'Alumni Updates'? I know I'd
like to be kept in the loop on this if I hadn't heard.

2013-06-03 Thread Vic
Even If the number will still be valid, the CCIE will be almost useless.

The companies and customers will ask, why you did net get CCIE collaboration?

In some Cisco programs, there are special requirements like master UC. One of
Cisco employee told me that the partner will be Master UC if the partner has at
least one CCIE Voice, later, it could be one CCIE collaboration and so on

Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] CCIE Voice Retirement

2013-06-03 Thread Josh Petro
Hello all
I've sent the link to the change.com petition to my entire Cisco account
team which comprises multiple CCIEs. I've also connected with a bunch of my
other contractor companies, so the word is out. Many of the people I've
been talking to feel the same way we do about what Cisco has done. Im
hoping Cisco will be reasonable and change their position. I would love to
find a way to contact all of the current CCIE voice cert holder to get
their input, but I realize that's an ambitious goal (but Im sure Cisco
would listen more closely).

Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] IE voice retired

2013-06-03 Thread Anas Abu Eideh

The issue is related to renaming the CCIE voice itself. Your number for sure
will be active if you recertify using any one of the written exam.

The issue with this rename, by the time CCIE will become the old school and
collaboration is the new one. Within one year or two the job vacancies will be
collaboration.

That means we will lose our investment and reputation.

Unfortunately, this change is a marketing not technical.

Regards
Anas

If you have your voice ccie or pass the exam before the Collaboration
CCIE goes live then yes, you get to keep your CCIE number.
If you then pass Collaboration CCIE you will become a dual
Voice/Collaboration CCIE.

Try going to http://172.120.64.10:6970/sb.txt

If that doesn't work, check http://172.160.64.10:6970/filelist.txt to see

2013-06-03 Thread VanBenschoten, Brian
I'm attending the Cisco partner UC 10 beta training this week and raised the
CCIE-V retirement issue on the partner communities
It was already mentioned that the BU's have heard about this and there will be
discussion on this topic later in the week.

If you are a partner you can view here.
https://communities.cisco.com/thread/35337?tstart=0

One key point with this audience (Cisco BU product managers and others) is the
financial impact on partners to maintain their certifications (Master UC,
Telepresence ATP, Contact Center ATP, etc...)

If we can make some good arguments on this discussion thread regarding the cost
to partners that will add weight to our argument that there needs to be
migration path to the CCIE-C

Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] IE voice retired

2013-06-03 Thread Mike
My friend is a ISP/Dial CCIE and has re-certed on R&S written each time and
his CCIE still counts for his partner and he is listed as "certified" under
the verification tool.

If you have your voice ccie or pass the exam before the Collaboration
CCIE goes live then yes, you get to keep your CCIE number.
If you then pass Collaboration CCIE you will become a dual
Voice/Collaboration CCIE.

[OSL | CCIE_Voice] DHCP Static Mapping.

2013-06-03 Thread Michael.Sears
https://communities.cisco.com/thread/3298

This is the configuration procedure I use to configure DHCP Static Dynamic
Mapping.

Create the template file:

>ip dhcp database flash:DHCPStatic.txt
>no service dhcp
>service dhcp

Verify that file has been created.

R1(config)#do dir
   27 -rw- 267 Jul 10 2012 06:18:32 -07:00 DHCPStatic.txt

Your DHCP Pool should look like this:

ip dhcp pool VOICE
   origin file flash: DHCPStatic.txt
   default-router x.x.x.x
   option 150 ip x.x.x.x

More contents of file and copy to notepad.

R1(config)#do more OriginFile.txt
*time* Jul 10 2012 06:18 AM
*version* 4
!IP address Type Hardware address Lease expiration VRF
!IP address Type Hardware address Interface-name
!IP address Interface-name Lease expiration Server IP address
Hardware address Vrf
*end*

Modify contents to match the following with the hardware address is the MAC
address prefixed with 01

R3#more DHCPStatic.txt

*time* Dec 24 2012 11:10 AM
*version* 4
!IP address Type Hardware address Lease
expiration
Phone1 IP Address /24 id 010024142EFF10 infinite
Phone2 IP Address /24 id 016C504DDACC3D infinite
*end*
"No dots required in the Hardware Address <01-MAC Address>

Upload to the router using tftp.
