Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] uccx node manager terminated unexpectedly by NT authority

2009-08-10 Thread Gwenzit
I got the same thing but suspended the vm right before it requests the reboot
after the install was completed. If you install it and dont configure it with
CUCM it fails, i have done this with several versions I had, but the
newest version I stopped just short of configuring it in callmanager. Not
knowing what I am doing when it comes to ipccx I opted to suspend the vm so
when im ready to configure it in cucm I will be ready.

You have just enough time to go into services and put the sql manager in manual
mode then reload the box and immediatly reload the ipccx software. you have
just under 4 or 5 mins to get to the install. if you fail to do so within the
alloted time and dont change the sql mgr to manual it even stops during a
reload of the ipccx software...

This shutdown problem happend in version 5.1, 6.1 and 7.0(1)

Anyone have any comments, I could be wrong but this was how I was able to get
around the NT/Service shutdown message...

Regards,

Unfortunately, I re-installed and am having the same problem.

Tanner thanks for your reply - i have managed to stop the re-boots however,
every time i try to start the appadmin web page, this disables the CCX Node
Manager service.

KatGuru, do you have any idea what patch fixed your issue?

kind regards

I had the same problem. But it was OK after I reinstalled it from the scratch.
I believe its something to do with the OS patch.

Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] esx 4 settings for voice servers

2009-08-06 Thread Gwenzit
I would like to offer some info...

My system is a Dell T300 dual core 3ghz 6mb cache 1330-fsb just this past
weekend got another 8 gig off of crucial.com and have a total of 16gb ram
running. base system cost 977, aftermarket ram from crucial.com 16gb cost
480.00 verses dell charge for 16gb 2800.00
I am using nfr 7.0 and have so far found out that cups 7.0(1), 7.0(2) do not
install in vmware. I was in on a recent presence lab from cisco and the
instructor says 7.0(3) works and they were using vmware version 1.x dont know
what kind. I have cucm 7.0(1) pub and sub running. I allocated the disk as one
big file and gave it 72 gigs of room. Although the install took 28 hours to
build the database it finally completed the following day. Subscriber took less
than 8 hours to install. The system came with two 250gb SATA drives that
are running individually and I have the win2003-64bit OS running on the first
drive and all my vm's running on the second drive. I also occasionally use a
1TB ext usb drive that runs in turbo mode has about a 600mg transfer speed and
runs even faster than the 7200 rpm sata drives.
Cups beta 7.0.99 installed fine. I got it at the prerelease last year in
the Malvern pa cisco office. CUC installed like a charm in a few hours. If you
iso the disks and install it from an external usb drive they work just as well.
I did that so I didn't have to keep dvd's in the Dell's only dvd drive.

I have also installed but have it in STANDBY is the nfr 7.0(1) IPCCX server and
its activated but I am not nearly ready to complete the install so its SUSPENDED

About using esxi or vmware server. I don't know why all you guys need to run
that crap... just use workstation 6.5.2 and if youi have to buy a copy its
fully licensed from vmware at about 275.00 per lic. Luckily my company is a
premier reseller of vmware so I get it all free. as well as the cisco stuff...

Stick to basic's dont over complicate things. VMWARE workstation automatically
recognizes which version of windows and linux the install program is ruuning.
alway let it decide for you ... It took me about 4 weeks to build the server,
limited time prior to passing the voice written exam was more important at the
time.

Once you get it all working be sure your server has at least two nic's this way
your AD/DNS/DHCP server for your data connection goes out to your firewall... i
hope you have a firewall so you can access your home lab anywhere. and the
other nic gets mapped to all the voice servers...

This one guy I met on this list... chikki i think his name is. is currently
trying to build his meeting-place server. So far I don't think he has completed
it but I am curious to hear if he does.

Keep at it... one note. with IPCCX i allocated 80gb on one big file.

I also built CUCMBE but found that the install needs to see at least 6gb ram, I
allocated 160gb but not at once, though it is on one big file and again this is
for labbing only using snapshots between configs.
Also sometimes the vmware software detects that your vm is in need of defrag, i
say if that occurs you should do it... it runs faster the next time around.

There was also a blog on this list where one guy had his servers on for a month
and the files on the hard drive were growing. I haven't seen that yet on my
system. Probably because I shut it off every other day since NJ is getting so
many lightening storms I can afford to loose my lab to a jolt..

One last thing put the server on a battery, vmware machines don't like to loose
power ever. some of my machines have gone bye bye

I hope some of this helps, I'm just starting Lab 2 today.

Good Luck

Its there keep looking. I did it for a company whose owners were paranoid and
wanted to listen in on peoples conversations but beware, you have to be fast to
the mute button otherwize the uninvited evesdroper will be heard by the
employee. It works so well its scary...

Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] question regarding Appendix A switching betw sipand sccp

2009-08-03 Thread Gwenzit
So does that mean the B2site is basic cme which registers with callmanager
and not full cme that is its own. I've configured both for customers.

not asking for the how-to but what did you end up doing to convert the phone to
sip?
Im guessing I have to plug the phone into my HQ sw and convert it on CUCM7.x
then plug it into the cme ?

Yep I know it’s gotcha! I ran into this couple of months ago.

Basically there is no separate firmware for CME so you need to use CUCM
firmware for CME as well.

I need the firmware for the BR2 CME site

Thanks in advance

Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] CCME 7.0 GUI....

2009-08-02 Thread Gwenzit
Have you read the README.txt file that came with ccme full tar version

3. Share the phone load, ringtone, and background files by issuing the command
'tftp-server
flash:xx' for
each file on the flash.

tftp-server flash:Desktops/320x212x12/CampusNight.png
You paste the files into your config like above

the http path to flash:\GUI

However, when I go to the web page, i get X's for the menus and
nothing appears to work...

What am I missing?
