Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Hyphothetical Voice Infrastructure Issue Question

2012-12-13 Thread George Goglidze
Hi,

Apart from checking the network infrastructure configuration. what other
troubleshooting has been done?
Have you verified the phone actually gets correct voice vlan? does it
receive IP Address in the correct pool? does it get the TFTP server?
Check the settings on the phone.

If the phones does receive the correct information. then maybe the phone
has previously been registered to other cluster min v8.0 ?
starting v8.0 they have security by default. which means the phone
downloads the ITL file, and checks the TFTP server signature in every
configuration file downloaded to match one in ITL file.
You can erase the ITL file through configuration.

Regards,

2012-12-13 Thread Shabeeb Mohammed
Hi..

Firstly, are you using CUCM or CME??
Secondly, try using a Static IP on the IP Phone. (*try using a 79XX ip
phone.. it is easier to know wat is happening*).
Thirdly, try registering a phone with static IP in the same vlan as that of
the Call Manager
Fourthly, If your using CME, make sure the source-address comand is correct
under the telephony-service commands.
Fifthly, if your using a CUCM, delete the DHCP scope and recreate them and
try

Hope one of these works.. :)

Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Hyphothetical Voice Infrastructure Issue Question

2012-12-13 Thread William Bell
Amp and Derek have provided great advice on validating that your infrastructure
is not the issue. It sounds like your phones are getting valid IP.

If you are using auto-reg for your phones in UCM, I would also check the
following:

1. Ensure that your Subscriber has auto-reg enabled and you have valid DNs for
assignment (make sure you have enough for all phones).

2. Ensure that the Subscriber enabled for auto-reg is in a CM group that is
enabled for auto-reg AND that it is first in the priority list.

3. Check your phone settings to ensure that the proper addressing, TFTP
host(s), and CM hosts(s) are present.

If you are still hitting issues, we may need more information on the symptoms
(checking the phone display for any status messages that pop or checking the
status message log from the phone).

HTH.

Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Hyphothetical Voice Infrastructure Issue Question

2012-12-13 Thread Amp

Hey Michael,
Have you checked to make sure that DHCP snooping is not turned on on
the switch, as well as, check and make sure your operational vlan is
being allowed on the trunk.

Thanks,
Amp
