Re: [ccp4bb] a postdoctoral fellow position at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Harvard Medical School, Boston, USA

2020-09-21 Thread Tan, Kemin
Dear all,

A postdoctoral fellow position is currently available at Dana-Farber Cancer
Institute and Harvard Medical School, Boston, USA

The collaborative Jia-huai Wang and Ellis Reinherz labs at Dana-Farber Cancer
Institute and Harvard Medical School are recruiting a postdoctoral fellow to
study structural immunology. We use interdisciplinary approaches at the
interface of structural, molecular mechanism of cellular immunity with the aim
of translating these insights into immunotherapy. Specific research directions
include structural and molecular studies of T cell development. The laboratory
provides a full access to cutting-edge techniques in molecular biology, protein
chemistry, NMR and protein crystallography.

Highly-motivated candidates with a recent PhD or MD/PhD in structural biology
and significant experience in molecular biology, biochemistry and immunology
are encouraged to apply. Skills in molecular cloning, protein chemistry and
crystallography are essential. Candidates should have a publication record in
peer-reviewed journals. We are seeking a candidate with excellent writing and
communication skills, able to work independently but also effectively with
other lab members. Applicants should include a short statement of research
goals, CV and three references with their application.

Please contact Dr. Jia-huai Wang at jw...@crystal.harvard.edu.

[ccp4bb] What's missing in visualising biological sequence or structure data?

2020-09-21 Thread John Berrisford
Dear CCP4BB

Do you visualise biological sequence or structure data?

What is missing for you in the current tools?

The ELIXIR 3D-Bioinfo community
(https://elixir-europe.org/communities/3d-bioinfo) created a survey to find
out what your preferences and requirements are with respect to
visualisation.

The Survey is available at https://forms.gle/Qtui4nx6xrivUcaG6, we would be
very grateful if you could complete it before the 31st of October.

The initial results from the survey will be presented at the online
3D-Bioinfo community meeting from 24-26/11/2020.

Regards

John

Re: [ccp4bb] opinions about crystal soaking service providers

2020-09-21 Thread Artem Evdokimov
Good Morning (depending on where you are, I guess)

Sadly, this topic did not receive as many replies as I had hoped for
(actually I am very surprised how few responses I got). So I cannot provide
you with a summary so far. I will be digging into this on my own so if I
learn enough to share, I will post it here.

Cheers,

Artem

That depends on your subscription settings to the list. There are three
possible settings for this:

* No acknowledgements

* Short message confirming receipt

* Receive copy of own postings

One way of checking these settings is to login to
https://www.jiscmail.ac.uk, go to "Subscriber's Corner", and click on
"[Settings]" for each list you are subscribed to. Use the "get a new
LISTSERV password" link if you don't have or remember your password.

It is probably also possible to use old-style LISTSERV mail commands to
change your settings, but I haven't done this for a long time and I
can't recall exactly how to do it.
