[ccp4bb] PNCC Screening Access Mechanism

2022-06-16 Thread Vega, Lauren B
Hello CryoEM Researchers,
Pacific Northwest CryoEM Center is offering a new mechanism developed to help
laboratories with limited or no cryo-EM resources enter the field of cryo-EM.
PNCC's "Screening Access Mechanism" will provide users on-site access to
state-of-the-art cryo-EM resources and expertise to carry out sample
preparation and optimization under close supervision of trained cryo-EM
specialists.
Our goal is to help users identify cryo-grid conditions that will be successful
for transitioning to data collection activities provided by PNCC's General
Access mechanism or to establish the technical feasibility and provide guidance
on the next states of the project. We hope this new mechanism will enable
investigators lacking access to local cryo-EM resources and help jump-start
investigators interested in entering the field of cryo-EM.
For more information about our "Screening Access Mechanism", go
here.
The next application deadline for this new proposal type is July 1st at
11:59pm (Pacific) in our portal
here.
We request your help by disseminating this information to colleagues who may be
interested in engaging in the field of cryo-EM!

Additionally, ACA Workshop 5: CryoEM sample preparation training using center
merit badges
(https://amcac.memberclicks.net/aca-wk5)
will be held at the PNCC in Portland, Oregon. If you are interested in this
workshop, please sign up for ACA 2022 and register for this workshop today!

[ccp4bb] Position available in New York City

2022-06-16 Thread Jeffrey B Bonanno
Hi All,

I would like to bring the following exciting opportunity in the Almo Lab at
Albert Einstein College of Medicine to your attention:

We seek a post doctoral fellow with interest in the development of novel
biologics for the treatment of infectious diseases, autoimmune diseases and
cancers. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in mammalian
protein expression, and protein design and/or protein chemistry. We have
established a highly modular platform technology for the antigen-selective
targeting of T cells, which affords the unique opportunity to expand and
activate, or delete, specific disease-relevant T cell populations without
global impact on the T cell repertoire. A variant of this biologic platform is
currently the subject of a multi-arm clinical trial for HPV-driven head and
neck cancer and an IND has recently been approved to evaluate efficacy against
Wilms' tumors. The Initial focus of the current program is on the use of these
biologics as monotherapies, and for the development of novel CAR T cell
approaches, for the eradication of HIV and CMV infections and the treatment of
malignancies. Interested candidates should send a CV, including the names of at
least two references to steve.almoeinsteinmed.edu.

Thanks,
Jeff
