[ccp4bb] Post Doctoral Positions in protein structure and function at the Karolinska Institutet (Sweden)
Post Doctoral Positions in protein structure and function at the Karolinska Institutet (Sweden) Dear bulletin board, A post-doctoral position (stipend, 1+1 year) is available at the Department of Medical Biochemistry and Biophysics (MBB), Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm. The project deals primarily with over-expression, purification, enzymatic characterization, crystallization and structure determination of lipoxygenase enzymes. These enzymes are involved in the generation of lipid mediators of inflammation. The successful candidate will join a multi-disciplinary research team and the position represents an opportunity for a postdoctoral scientist to develop his/her expertise as well as broaden his/her experience. The ideal candidate will have experience in crystallography and/or enzymology to investigate the structural bases of the catalytic mechanisms. The lab has all necessary equipment and access to facilities needed for the project. We have periodic access to beamlines at ESRF (France), Diamond (UK) and Bessy (Germany). Qualifications: The candidates should hold a Ph. D. degree in x-ray crystallography or enzymology as well as experience with protein expression, purification and biochemical characterization. The application should contain a single PDF document including: Letter of intention stating the scientific interests, technical skills, and previous experience of the candidate, CV and list of publications as well as contact information of at least two references. Please send your electronic application to: agnes.rinaldo-matt...@ki.se, before the 20 of March 2014 Agnes Rinaldo-Matthis, PhD Assistant Professor Department of Medical Biochemistry and Biophysics Karolinska Institutet Scheeles väg 2 17177 Stockholm Sweden Email: agnes.rinaldo-matt...@ki.se Tel:+46-8-52487648
[ccp4bb] Post Doctoral Positions in membrane protein structure and function at the Karolinska Institutet, Sweden
Dear bulletin board, A two-year post-doctoral position is available from September 2013 at the Department of Medical Biochemistry and Biophysics (MBB), Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm. The project deals primarily with over-expression, purification, crystallization and structure determination of human membrane proteins involved in the generation of lipid mediators of inflammation, belonging to the MAPEG (membrane associated proteins in eicosanoid and glutathione metabolism) superfamily. The successful candidate will join a multi-disciplinary research team and the position represents an opportunity for a postdoctoral scientist to develop his/her expertise as well as broaden his/her experience. The broad interests of the lab are in membrane protein structure and function. We will combine structural techniques such as macromolecular crystallography with biophysical and biochemical methods such as enzyme kinetics to investigate the structural bases of the catalytic mechanisms. The lab has all necessary equipment and access to facilities needed for the project. We have periodic access to beamlines at ESRF (France), Diamond (UK) and Bessy (Germany). Qualifications: The candidates should hold a Ph. D. degree, must be motivated and a have strong background in biochemistry or structural biology. Experience with protein expression, purification and biochemical characterization is required. Prior experience in membrane protein biochemistry will be added advantages. The application should contain a single PDF document including: Letter of intention stating the scientific interests, technical skills, and previous experience of the candidate. C.V. including date and field of (expected) graduation and list of publications. The contact information of at least two references. Please send your electronic application to: agnes.rinaldo-matt...@ki.se before 1st of Aug 2013.

Post-Doctoral position available at Karolinska Institutet, Sweden Project description: A post-doctoral position is available at the Department of Medical Biochemistry and Biophysics (MBB), Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm. The project deals primarily with over-expression, purification, crystallization and structure determination of human enzymes involved in the generation of lipid mediators of inflammation. The successful candidate will join a multi-disciplinary research team and the position represents an excellent opportunity for a postdoctoral scientist to develop his/her expertise as well as broaden his/her experience. Qualifications: We are seeking an experienced crystallographer with a Ph.D. in protein crystallography. A proven track record of multiple successful structure determinations is required. Previous experience, apart from crystallography, with protein expression, purification and enzyme kinetics, is desirable. The candidate should be self-motivated, have interpersonal communication skills and ability to interact effectively and work productively in a team. How to Apply: Interested candidates should send a CV and letters of reference by either email to agnes.rinaldo-matt...@ki.semailto:agnes.rinaldo-matt...@ki.se or by normal post to Agnes Rinaldo-Matthis, MBB, Karolinska Institutet, Scheeles väg 2, S-171 77 Stockholm, Sweden.
[ccp4bb] XDS.INP for BNL X29A
Dear all, I wonder if anyone has a XDS.INP file for the beamline X29A at Brookhaven National Lab? I collected the data March 2007, ADSC Quantum 315 detector, and cannot process the data with other programs. I asked the beamline scientists and they don´t appear to have it. Thanks, Agnes
