The successful candidate will be engaged in the European ERC grant related to DNA metabolism, in particular DNA repair and will use structural methods, predominantly crystallography. The group of Dr. Marcin Nowotny at the International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology (IIMCB) in Warsaw, Poland is seeking candidates for postdoctoral fellows. The fellows will work on protein complexes involved in DNA and RNA metabolism using protein crystallography and protein biochemistry (for examples of our previous work please see: Jaciuk M. et al. Nat. Struct. Mol. Biol. 18(2):191-7 and Rychlik M.P., et al. Mol. Cell 40(4):658-70). Further information about IIMCB can be found at: http://www.iimcb.gov.pl. The Institute has state-of-the-art equipment and facilities, including crystallization robots, an automated crystallization station and a microfocus home X-ray source. We have a fully equipped crystallization and data collection facility with a crystallization robot and a Rigaku RU-H3R generator equipped with Mar345 detector. The postdoctoral fellow will carry out structural studies of eukaryotic proteins involved in RNA metabolism. The position is funded through EU structural funds and the contract is for two years. We are looking for a person with experience in protein purification and protein biochemistry. Additionally, candidates with experience in crystallography will be preferred.
