(https://www.ecm34.org/) is going to be organized in Padova, Italy, from the
26th to 30th of August.
As chairperson of the microsymposium "MS01 - Nucleic acids - protein
interactions" I am looking forward to receiving your contributions.

[ccp4bb] Open post-doc position (Xtal-cryoEM)

2022-11-22 Thread Marco Nardini

 Messaggio originale
Da: "Marco Nardini"
Data: 23/nov/2022 07.59.31
Oggetto: Open post-doc position Xtal-cryoEM
A: (marco.nardini) Marco Nardini

Two years post-doc position (possibly renewable) at the University of Milano
(UNIMI), Department of Biosciences

Research in the group of prof. Marco Nardini (
https://sites.unimi.it/biolstru/nardini-lab.html )

Title of the project: “ Integrated structural biology on transcription factors
and their interaction with DNA”

In particular the project will focus on:

(i) the eukaryotic “pioneer” histone-like transcription factor NF-Y (doi:
10.1016/j.cell.2012.11.047) and its interplay with two major TF classes: basic
leucine-zipper (bZIP) and basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH), relevant in cancer and
other important human pathologies, and (ii) the prokaryotic MucR (doi:
10.1038/s41598-017-16127-5), a zinc-finger-containing protein whose function
has been associated with the organization of bacterial genetic material.

The project includes a full training in cryo-EM (at our cryo-EM facility:
https://sites.unimi.it/biolstru/em.html ) ,

from sample preparation to data collection, processing, and structure
determination

Requested background: molecular biology and/or biochemistry and/or structural
biology. Ph.D. title is mandatory.

The position (public competition) will be shortly announced at the UNIMI
website.
