Hi,
I have been using dvd+rw-tool for writing data in dvds for more than 7-8
months without any problem. I am running Red Hat Linux 7.2 with 2.4.24.
I have no problem with HP dvd+rw 4.7GB (1x/2x) disc.
But I came into this problem with new Memorex DVD+RW 4.7 Gb discs.
I am using dvd+rw-tools-5.21.4.10.8 and Polaroid DVD Drive.

Are you at the latest firmware revision? And who actually makes this
drive? I assume Polaroid is just OEMing something else.

This is the command I use to burn dvds
growisofs -dvd-compat -Z /dev/scd0=backup.iso
And the error I am getting with the new dvds:
# ./growisofs -dvd-compat -Z /dev/scd0=/backup/Encrypted-iso/backup.iso
Executing 'builtin_dd if=/backup/Encrypted-iso/backup.iso of=/dev/scd0 obs=32k

cdrtools-2.01.01a01

2004-10-17 Thread Joerg Schilling
NEW features of cdrtools-2.01.01a01:

***
NOTE: this is _not_ a release that starts a new aplha/beta series of dirtibutions.
The only reason is to add certain new CD/DVD features that are important.

So _please_ do not send any patches except when you like to fix extreme bugs.
I am currently mainly working on stable incremental restore featurs for
star-1.5-final.
Once star-1.5-final is out, cdrtools will start a new developent cycle.
***

All:

- Better lint make rules

- Better autoconf rrules for ACLs

- Better support for Linux on IBM-390

- Better support for Linux on AMD x86-64

- Better conforming to lint warnings.

Libparanoia (Ported by Jörg Schilling, originated by Monty [EMAIL PROTECTED]):

Libedc (Optimized by Jörg Schilling, originated by Heiko Eißfeldt [EMAIL PROTECTED]):

Libscg:

- Modified the remote SCSI library stuff that has been changed due
to a security problem on order to make it compile again on HP-UX.

Rscsi:

Cdrecord:

- Support for the Plextor GigaRec feature.
Use driveropts=gigarec=1.2 to increase CD capacity by 20%.
