Could you please stop your FUD? cdrecord is the first OSS program that supports multi session! Cdrecord will implement DVD multi border in future, but it will do it the way that is documented in the standards. BTW: If DVD-multi border was functional in the Pioneer A03 formware as originally (and falsely) claimed by Pioneer in 1999, then cdrecord would support it since then. And if you had just added DVD support instead of forking the "Pro" stuff there wouldn't be so damn many variants! And if you would add the capability to conveniently append to CD/DVD (like -M in growisofs) people would have less need to use other software. Doing append multisession is highly useful for a non-volatile backup of ongoing work, and should be used by more people than it is. Or do you speak about the dead and broken junk "fork" from an ex Rad Hat employee? This is based on a 6 year old cdrecord source where someone did replace the working DVD support by someting half baken. Please use the official cdrtools ftp://ftp.berlios.de/pub/cdrecord/alpha/ (recent version is 2.01.01a20) and tell the authors of "nautilis" to add working support for cdrecord. Jörg -- E. problem with dvd-rw on Plextor PX-704A
I've got a problem with burning dvd-rw on my Plextor PX-704A: 1- Both gnomebaker, and nautilus-cd-burner, can't blanking dvd-rw burned by them. The same happens if I use the shell. This is the output: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ dvd+rw-format -blank /dev/hdd * DVD±RW/-RAM format utility by <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, version 6.1. :-( mounted media doesn't appear to be DVD±RW or DVD-RAM [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ 2- On the other hand, the dvd-rw can be recognized by linux, but not by windows, which warn that there's no disc in the device. 3- Only if I use dvdrecord I can blank the dvd, but if I do it in fast mode, gnomebaker gives me this error if I attempt a new burning: :-[ [EMAIL PROTECTED] failed with SK=5h/ASC=64h/ACQ=00h]: Input/output error :-( attempt to re-run with -dvd-compat -dvd-compat to engage DAO or apply full blanking procedure :-( write failed: Input/output error With a full blanking instead I can manage to burn the dvd, but I go back to point 1, so the problems restart. Can you give me some advice? Thak you very much Andrea mkisofs 4:2.01 dvd+rw-tools 6.1 dvdrtools 0.2.1-1 -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble?
