 HI LIst;

 What version of KDE is included in the latest version of CentOS ?

 Also, is there a way to get KDE4 in CentOS ?

It's possible, but no one has yet done the work to build/package kde4 for
CentOS (would require upgrading some core components, one of which...
qt4)

 If so, Can I have both
 KDE3.x and KDE4 installed and switch back and forth between the 2
 versions if needed ?

Not easily anyway, same answers as for fedora apply here:

What software are you looking to install ? Make sure that your redhat
support people dont have any problems with it ( in most cases they wont
- just talk to them once ).

A lot of open source projects dont publish packages specifically marked
for RedhatEL since they dont have access to it. That does not mean it
wont work there!

Re: [CentOS] OT: Setting a CentOS to gateway a private IP address

2008-10-22 Thread James B. Byrne

I have discovered quagga and installed it on the dual-homed CentOS-5.2 box
that I am attempting to configure as a router.

Given my previous requirements and configuration:

dual-homed host running CentOS-5.2 with
eth0 = 2xx.yyy.zzz.23
eth1 = 192.168.219.1

and given that our Cisco 2605 uses ripv2 I infer that my
/etc/quagga/ripd.conf file needs to look something like this:

hostname myhost.domain.tld
password somepassword

router rip
  network eth0 --- is this correct?
  network 192.168.219.0/24

Can anyone provide me with some further guidance on this together with any
recommendations respecting zebra.conf?

Regards,

asterisk package available from rpmforge. But version 1.2 only. If you
want 1.4, you will have to make your own package.

RE: [CentOS] SCSI error: return code = 0x10070000

2008-10-22 Thread John
behalf of; partha chowdhury [EMAIL PROTECTED]

i have another 80G external samsung drive from 2 years and it works
without problem .

JohnStanley Writes:

You could very well be just having an issue wich involves the drive firware
not being compatable with the operatting system since the other one does
work.

As a side note I have a USB Drive and a Thumb drive that will work in
windows but not linux. What I did was found one brand and model that worked
and bought extra ones for the linux systems.
