Yes, the code on that web page could be a solution to the issue on
hand. According to its description, the code calculates and searches
URLs that may contain translations for requested page, and lists any
 translation that do exist.

True, but at server expense. But how much over head does it cause? That
will be a problem as the wiki grows in size.

My earlier observation about CentOS wiki's requirement on the URL of
translated pages means that the overhead is directly proportional to the
number of i18n languages registered with MoinMoin. It is constant for
every page, regardless of the size of wiki.

Dag, this seems confusing to me...

No, the kmod-ath5k works, but does have a problem when the interface is
 brought down.

In this first sentence you say the kmod-ath5k does have a problem when
 the interface is brought down.

This is not a problem with the kmod-ath5k, it happens with the
ath5k from 2.6.18-141 and 2.6.18-144 as well (which is a backport of the
Fedora 10 ath5k module which I presume works fine in F10).

In this next sentence however says that it (kmod-ath5k) is not where
this issue is but rather it is in the ath5k backport for
 2.6.18-141/2.6.18-144.

I am lost does this happen on the kmod-ath5k or not?

Read it again. The problem exists in where the driver comes from. So
evidently it is also in the kmod. So it is not a kmod issue.

Yes, after Ned and Scott pointed that out I understood. Thanks Dag.

Also, I am updating the wiki page. I have tried the kmod driver and can
confirm 2 things:

1. It does detect and use my wireless ethernet device.
2. It does hang my laptop whenever the device is brought down (ifconfig
ath0 down or restart).

Oh and on more thing to add. I was able to get all sound issues working,
I downloaded, compiled, and installed alsa 1.0.20. Sound is awsome, no
more static, scratchy sounds and my HDMI sound device works now!

[CentOS] How to run command as apache?

2009-05-10 Thread Neil Aggarwal
Hello:

I have a subversion repository set up in
/usr/local/svn/MyProject.

For security, I have that directory set to
apache as the owner and group and all files
are mode 700.

I need to run a svnsync command as the apache
user so it may write to the repository.

I tried this command:

su apache -c /usr/bin/svnsync sync
https://svn2.jammconsulting.com/svn/MyProject;

But I get this message from the su command:
This account is currently not available.

I am guessing this happens because the apache account
is set with no password and a nologin shell.

How can I run a command as the apache user?

Thanks,
Neil

[CentOS] svnsync not using config dir

2009-05-10 Thread Neil Aggarwal
Hello:

I tried posting this to the subversion mailing
list, but that does not seem to be taking the
post so I am hoping this list can help.

I am using svnsync installed using yum on my
CentOS 5 server.

I am trying to tell the sync command to save
the certificates and credentials in a directory,
but it does not seem to be doing so.

I created a directory /usr/local/svn/MyProject.config

To run the sync, I used this command:

/usr/bin/svnsync sync https://svn2.jammconsulting.com/svn/MyProject
--config-dir /usr/local/svn/MyProject.config --username svnsync

When I issue the command, it asks me to accept the
certificate. I told it to accept permanently and
gave the svnsync password when prompted.

But, nothing was saved in the config directory
and when I issue the command again, it still asks
me to accept the certificate and the password for
the svnsync user account.

Any ideas why this is not working?

Thanks,
Neil
