Welcome to the brave new World where Google is the new Microsoft.

Do you think if they cared about user feedback they would have left the
"New GMail"
redesign in place after the tons of negative feedback?.

http://news.techeye.net/software/google-to-angry-gmail-users-we-know-better

http://www.brightsideofnews.com/news/2012/4/24/googles-cloud-throws-a-thunderbolt-to-gmail-users.aspx

They dont care. They "know better". They re doing software and services for
the uneducated masses, they dont care what you and I -or any other 'power
user'- thinks. Google's idea is that ideally we should run Android or
Chrome OS, not CentOS...

But the real question is: why should we freak out if a piece of Google
software becomes no longer available? The World wont end, specially when
there are capable open alternatives like Mozilla s Firefox. Think "Picasa
for Linux" (wine)

In fact, I think it's positive if we give Google LESS influence than what
they already have, not more.

Correct ... the issue is that the new libpdf.so requires the same
(newer) glibc as the chrome version ... and therefore it will not work.
You can use the standard Adobe Acrobat plugin for viewing PDFs.

There are known issues with the xen and KVM on the same base machine ...
the xen version qemu and the kvm version of qemu clash as does the
libvirt-daemon-kvm and some of the other packages in the main distro.

We know this happens, and we may try to work on it in the future, but
for now KVM and Xen on the same base machine is not supported.

The kernel would do KVM though, just not all the packages will install
if you are installing xen as well.

the kernel included in the xen repo, is also kvm aware. Can you post
some more specific details about what the problem is and ideally, the
yum transaction logs ?

Re: [CentOS] Bluetooth 4.0 with chip BCM20702A0 on CentOS6.4

2013-06-23 Thread Heng Su
Hi Ljubomir,

Thanks for your suggestions, I tried kernel-ml & kernel-lt. Seems lots of
error for kernel when I was starting the OS. kernel-lt is more stable. Both
works fine for my bluetooth dongle.
I will use the kernel-lt before CentOS release new kernel version. As my
CentOS is for desktop use purpose, not so concern about the stability. Thank
you so much!

Best Regards,
Su Heng

You can try with newer kernels from ElRepo
(http://elrepo.org/tiki/tiki-index.php) that have compatible API's with
EL6. look for elrepo-kernel section on main page. Currently there are
kernels 3.0.83-1 and 3.9.7-1. But do note that those are third party
kernels, even though ElRepo is safe third party repository.

Hi,
Just for the record. The script in

https://raw.github.com/hughesjr/chromium_el_builder/master/chrome_libpdf_copy.sh

downloads the latest stable of google-chrome which is
28.0.1500.52-207119 atm.
The libpdf.so which is included is not working (at least on i386).

# ldd libpdf.so
./libpdf.so: /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6: version `GLIBCXX_3.4.15' not found
(required by ./libpdf.so)

When you try to open pdf file you get "Could not load Chrome PDF Viewer"

The libpdf.so version from the following works:
google-chrome-stable-27.0.1453.110-202711.i386

I've managed to download it from
http://orion.lcg.ufrj.br/RPMS/myrpms/google/

Giannis

So we're back to this again, are we?

Did you bother to google? To check the CentOS wiki?

No, you did not. Because if you had you would have gotten a solution.
