Re: [CentOS-es] Centos con Win2011 server

2013-10-27 Thread angel jauregui
configue DHCP, DNS y Activedirectory...

resolucion inversa, me responde bien.

escribo www.google.com, no :(

Cualquier screeshot puedo proporcionarselas !

Saludos !

2013-10-27 Thread Ing. Ramon Resendiz

Glad to hear you got it working.

Actually installation of kmod-alx should have been easier than that.
Sorry that I did not refer to ELRepo's home page ( http://elrepo.org

No, no one there could make it work on a VM. I switched to using a
 physical

I will be able to replicate your environment within a few days are you
willing to give it another shot?

I appreciate your offer and it certainly would be nice to get this solved,
but it not longer critical for me to do my job. Alao I will be super busy
this coming week.

 SilverTip257 had an interesting
question with regards to how the network is setup.

I'm assuming that the host has a bridge nic compared to the bridge that
is created by libvirtd virbr0, which has the default network of
 192.168.122.0/24.

Can you confirm my assumption and let me know if you are willing to
continue to work on a resolution.

I don't know how to answer your question - I am a developer not an admin -
but if you give me the commands needed I can execute them. I don't have
access to the physical host - it's 2,000 miles away from where I am. I
could try and ask an admin there, but they are super busy too and they've
moved on to other things (We are really short staffed.)

Thanks!

[CentOS] Does elrepo fix google-chrome requirement for newer glib and GTK

2013-10-27 Thread Rob Townley
Has anyone tested installing the newer kernels from elrepo (or
somewhere else) in order to keep google-chrome updated beyond version
27? Actually, i assumed a newer kernel would come with a newer glibc
but i do not see a newer glibc via elrepo, just newer kernels. hmmm.

# yum --disablerepo=* --enablerepo=elrepo* info glibc | grep -i repo
only lists my already installed glibc packages from updates.

Further, google-chrome requires gtk2 version 2.24.0 or above, and i do
not see that in any alternate repos either. But that is another
question because
#rpm -qi gtk2-2.18.9
finds the package, but
#yum clean all
#yum --enablerepo=* search all gtk2-2.18.9
says No Matches found
So clearly something is messed up if yum can not find one its own
packages it itself installed, so i cannot trust it to find gtk2-2.24.

For those that do not use google-chrome-stable, each time it is newly
started, the following message appears close to the top of the window:
Google Chrome has stopped updating and no longer supports this
version of your operating system.

Assuming 3rd party repos do not work directly, has anyone tried the following:

I was able to get Chrome working by doing the following (as root):

./install_chrome.sh

Chrome can then be run with the command:

I ran that script to get Chrome v29.x to install 6 or 7 months ago...
it fetches a GTK package from a fedora 15 repo and segregates it from
the CentOS GTK files, if I recall correctly...

yum has since upgraded Chrome 3 or 4 times (now at v31.something) from

I'm glad this worked for you, but this is quite possibly the most
horrific way to put chrome on a system. This script pulls in packages
that no longer get updated, abuses LD_PRELOAD, builds as root, and quite
possibly consumes raw orphaned kittens.

This script should be classified as a criminal offense.

How much memory is in the system? Is it a NUMA machine? Can you tell me what
memory looks like during these errors? It looks like a memory problem, but
I'll need more details.

BTW, please don't try to clean up the output. Dump a dmesg into pastebin and
send us the link. There are likely other errors that we're not able to see to
determine the cause of the problem.

 Hi all,

My CentOS 6.0 system kernel crashed, the original 2.6.32-71 x86_64 kernel
was used, but I could not find the debuginfo package in
 debuginfo.centos.org repo.
 How can I got it?

 Regards,
 An Yang
