Thanks for confirming that it works for you.
Sure I'll try with a fresh profile and do other tests like manually
disabling hardware acceleration and so.
Problem is, this is on a terminal serving host with tens of connected
desktop users working almost around the clock so I can't just upgrade
again and play with it without disturbing business.

It is working fine for us (firefox-115.6.0-1.el7.centos.x86_64).

Maybe you can try with a fresh profile?
$ firefox --ProfileManager
