Do you mean that you have Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.5? If so you should be
getting your support from RedHat. Or do you have CentOS 5.5?

Its not clear from what you've said, its rather ambiguous.

From the vault where all out of date rpms go, but you'll be lucky to get
support from here as we only support what we ship! And please don't top
post, it breaks the flow of conversation.

Re: [CentOS] bogus error message from yum update for gmime and gmime-sharp

Error: Missing Dependency: gmime = 2.2.10-5.el5.centos is needed by
 package gmime-sharp-2.2.10-5.el5.centos.i386 (installed)
 ...

But both of these are already installed:

 # rpm -q gmime gmime-sharp
 gmime-2.2.10-5.el5.centos
 gmime-sharp-2.2.10-5.el5.centos

 So:

 # package-cleanup --problems
 Setting up yum
 Reading local RPM database
 Processing all local requires
 No problems found

Running the above yum update ... again yields the same bogus error
messages. I've had problems with these two packages before. Why can't
 yum understand rpm for them?

 Thanks for the wisdom.

Have you tried 'yum cleanall' and then do a yum update?

 Hi Guys,

Some of us are yet-again going to be getting together for a CentOS Beer
evening on the 10th Nov 2009 at the Kings and Queens. The Pub is mostly
quiet during the week, has a fair selection of drinks and is central
enough to most people in the city.

Oh if it only wasn't on a Tuesday night I would have come along, and put
faces to some names. but unfortunately I have another commitment on a
Tuesday night, sorry

Sharon.

 The full address is :
 King Queens,
 1 Foley St,
 London,
 W1W 6DL‎

Here is a Google Street view of the place http://bit.ly/1PchSO

We should be there from about 6:30pm onwards. And depending on how
people feel about it, will move around the corner to Ragham, for some
food around 9pm. When you get there, keep an eye out for people in
 CentOS T-Shirts/ Shirts.

There is no real agenda except focus on beer and the food! However, you
are welcome to bring laptops around and show off any cool stuff you've
been working on ( iirc, there is no internet at the pub though ).

Thats a fedora core 6 rpm which maybe the reason why its not working
properly.
