Salam, Well, i have only used RDP as windows to linux (desktop), there should be no issue... for linux to linux, well x11 forwrding through ssh seems to be issue with that not used if i try i will let u know There is also another way if u can try www.nomachine.com and go to download section. Dear Salam, Yes, these iso images first you have to burn on CD or simply make it a bootable CentOs 4.5 CD. Just like you have windows bootable CD. There is no need to unzip the files as it makes no sense. just burn the CDs with these iso images. Secondly, in centos.org website there is also availibility of "Server CD image" comprise of one iso image only, means you have the server addition on single CD. But here u can use CentOs only as command line not GUI, The GUI can be installed with "yum" as well... Dear Salam, "Missing Dependency: perl(Device::SerialPort) is needed by package zoneminder" Have you ever used "CPAN" for perl. if you donot know than i am not telling you the whole procedure. Please read about CPAN its very very handy for filling Perl dependencies. Well, you can also download the source package from CPAN website. Here is the link http://search.cpan.org/~cook/Device-SerialPort-1.003001/SerialPort.pm Down load it in /usr/local and extract here. Always remember search.cpan.orgits a new world for PERL. Re: [CentOS] running php4 and php5 parallel
Hi, Let us suppose, you have PHP4 RPM installation, PHP5 source installation. you type "php -v" you should get only one output like PHP5, The PHP Group, Let us start the apache, and put some php function in a file "phpinfo()" in index.php. you will get only PHP5(suppose). I am trying to explain that your output is one (PHP4 or PHP5). The question of running both in parallel seems to be difficult in this scenario. It also says when u will get to know that which version is now u running.... [CentOS] Very strange problem i have faced in my 2 years carrier
Dear Concerns, I would like to share a very strange problem. I am from Pakistan/Islamabad. Last month i was on trainning from Askari Bank Limited (Juniper). Here in Askari i m running NMS--> MRTGs using CentOs 4.4. On trainning i recieved a call from collique saying "when i "su -l" NMS says "root user doesnot exist". and also MRTGs not working. well i was amazed how was it possible. In the Evening i came back to office. I boot the machine in single user mode and type the command; less /etc/passwd here when i found that user root existed, but the only thing that was amazing is; the spelling of root was changed from "root" to "R00t". i changed to "root" and every thing worked. I want to ask, what is this, this doesnot seem a garbage value or nor corruption of passwd file. only showing someone changes this. Here we have bank private network, only two people have access for it me and another guy. what are your opinions?? Please also share your strange experience.
