Please do not top post.

As far as i can see in your list, several RPMs are not from official
sources. And your version numbers are quite old (from 2015 if i remember
correctly).

Maybe it will be easier to do a fresh installation instead of debugging
your current one.

Are you using RPMs from outside of the CentOS or EPEL repos? Manually

Any suggestion ?

well I did disable addons and then was able to do the update. Then
when I checked for available updates I got only three showing, all
listed as epel. For the moment those updates are of no special
importance so I'm happy to deal with other problems. Nonetheless I
remained puzzled by both the original problem and the fix.

[CentOS] can't update CENTOS - mirrore issue? or what?

2010-05-20 Thread Dave Stevens

For about a week a biug stack of updates have been pending for CENTOS
but I can't install them. The yum update command leads to dependency
resolution in the usual way but it always ends in this:

[...and about another thirty lines with some intended-to-be-helpful

At first I thought it might just be that the mirrors were busy with
lotsa downloads but as time goes by this is a progressively less and
less satisfactory situation. Does anyone else have this problem? or a
suggestion?

TIA,

Dave

Try running

   yum clean all

and then try it again.

However, you need to careful since none of your repositories appear
to be bona fida CentOS repositories (just by looking at the name.)

A slightly different version of python may create havoc when trying to
upgrade other packages with python dependencies.

I don't have the trailing _3.6 on mine which makes me suspicious that
it might *not* be the correct version - but I might be wrong about that.

Also, all my packages end with .i386 instead of _3.6.

[CentOS] Can't update CentOS 5.2

2009-01-10 Thread Mário Gamito
Hi,

I've just installed a fresh CentOS 5.2

Now, I run yum update and I get:

Could not retrieve mirrorlist
http://mirrorlist.centos.org/?release=5arch=i386repo=os error was
[Errno 4] IOError: urlopen error (110, 'Connection timed out')
Error: Cannot retrieve repository metadata (repomd.xml) for repository:
base. Please verify its path and try again

I have Internet connection, but I cant ping mirrorlist.centos.org and
http://mirrorlist.centos.org/?release=5arch=i386repo=os just stalls.

Is there another mirror list and if so, how do I configure it ?

Any help would be appreciated.

Re: [CentOS] Can't update CentOS 5.2 (SOLVED)

2009-01-10 Thread Mário Gamito
Hi,

I solved the problem.

Just edited file /etc/yum.repos.d/CentOS-Base.repo and added cc=pt at
the end of each repo. Like:

repo=extrascc=pt

Thus, I get a Portuguese repo.

This can be made with all the countrie's TLD.
They're using GEO-IP for about 100 repositories.

We can override the system like I did.

Now, I run yum update and I get:

 Could not retrieve mirrorlist
 http://mirrorlist.centos.org/?release=5arch=i386repo=os error was
[Errno 4] IOError: urlopen error (110, 'Connection timed out')

One of the mirrorlist servers has been down today (but now works again). If
you happen to hit the bad one, the above can happen.

Cheers,

Ralph
