That even works without having checked out in $HOME.

Thanks.

/home/angenenr/work/svn/centos/artwork/trunk/Themes/TreeFlower/Anaconda/Progress/Slides-2
is the path I called ./render.sh in.

I tried the first one (!) and it worked. The rendering is complete.

Try it with another separator:

s!=TEXT1=!wiki url: http://wiki.centos.org/!

s#=TEXT2=#Bold Text#

s/=TEXT3=/Simple text. No slashes here in/

After some trial and error sessions, I now know that the "/" on the
TEXT line causes the rendering to fail (this is ja). Only slide 06
has them, which is why this one did not render.

Is there any known workaround? Some way to escape?

Well, this shouldn't be a limitation anymore :). Relative path were used

Guys, do a svn update and try rendering Anaconda Slides again. I removed
the background image absolute path from svg files and moved it into
render.sh $BGFILE which is equal to
$HOME/artwork/trunk/Themes/TreeFlower/Wallpapers/img/wallpaper-fog.png

with this in place, the user part ($HOME) could change.

There are still some limitations:

1. You should do the svn co https://projects.centos.org/svn/artwork
directly in your $HOME
2. If you open svg files with Inkscape directly the background is shown
as broken. This is because the background image absolute path was
replaced with a marker (=BGFILE=) that is replaced (in a temporal file)
after rendering with the absolute path of the image defined in $BGFILE.

I'm propagating this to other sections.

Have you still the path problem ?

Here we change that 6 to a 5 (we are translating CentOS-5 not 6).
Something like:

cd artwork/trunk/Translations/5/Themes/Anaconda/Progress/Slides-1/$lang

What would be more important for me at the moment (well, after you did
that) is a short HowTo which I can give to the translators.

Let me see:

%<%<%<%<%<%<%<%<%<%<%<

svn co https://projects.centos.org/svn/artwork/

cd artwork/trunk/Translations/6/Themes/Anaconda/Progress/Slides-1/$lang

vim *.sed

Add to those sed files

s/=TITLE=/Willkommen bei CentOS =VERSION=!/

s/=TEXT1=/Your text here =VERSION=!/

And so on up to TEXT6 (and look in ../../Slides-1/$lang for what is
there now.

Do that for all slides.

Add s!=VERSION=!5! to the end of all files. Add
s!=URL=!http://www.centos.org/! to all files also?

Don't remove the line with IMAGEFILENAME if it is there?

cd artwork/trunk/Themes/TreeFlower/Anaconda/Progress/Slides-2

Run "render.sh $lang"

cd artwork/

svn commit

%<%<%<%<%<%<%<%<%<%<%<

Is that halfways correct?

The paths are still wrong in the svg files, that has to be fixed
also - except if you are able to render *all* files with the correct
char sets.

It still tries to look for files under /home/al/Desktop/CentOS

Can we correct that somehow?

Oh, and the colors are *way* off after I rendered. See here:

 - is that because of the broken
image path?

Do I see it correctly that I only need to edit the stuff under Slides-1
and it automatically renders that text into Slides-2 also?

Cheers,

Ralph

Okay, let us go for it. Do you think you could build an updated redhat
artwork package? Do you need help with that?

I'm trying to gather the translators later on today, so that we get
updated slides.

I would like to have a finished artwork on January 29th (a week from
now), so there should be enough time to build an updated package and to
get the correct slides.

As for the slides: I (personally) want to go with slide set 2.

Anyone else up for helping (especially with the redhat-artwork rpm?)

2009-01-21 Thread bulmoji-centos
Hello,

I've got also same problem like Akemi while rendering Korean.

1. wallpaer link problem

In my case, I downloaded that missing images to my local folder and made some
changes(wallpaper location) to local copies of svg file.
Then that missing wallpaper error was gone.

2. rendering time hanging

The rendering was hung by one of sed file(08.sed).
I've just added one space char to the end of the title in that file after long
trial.
It solved this problem but I don't know why.

I also up for that others opinion here, To avoid Trial and error method, we
need some guide documents that easy find on the wiki.

Thanks,

I attempted to render slide 06 but no success. Something is causing
incorrect interpretation of letters. If I remove certain letters, it
goes through. I'd have to come up with a modification of the original
sentence that allows successful rendering while preserving the
intended contents. This is going to be a bit challenging. Just... to
what extent may I alter the original words?

For me it looks rather complete. Let me ask the other way round - do we
have any chance to render newly translated anaconda slides in the old

I'm already asking around ...

I think that the easiest method is to have the translators do the sed
files only. I believe that, as far as the sed files are correct,
rendering can be done by anyone (whether those sed files can be
displayed in a web browser is not relevant).

Of course, if the translator wants to see the rendered images before
committing them, they need to do it locally. But this should not be
made a mandatory step for the translators IMHO.

I like the second version better, even if we only put our logo on the
left side.

Another question - would we (well you) be ready for a completely new
artwork within 5.3? Or should we "spare" treeflower for 6? I'd have to
run that by some people before we do so ...

Slides-2 changes the slide design into a more horizontal one and
introduce a left side image that can be customized in each slide.
Something to illustrate the text.

That's because al doesn't have an account on your machine! Give him one
so he can put the file there!

Seriously:

We should straighten this out as soon as possible, as I want to team up
the translators again. And if we go with a new set of slides (I was even
thinking of changing some of the old ones or adding a new one - I have
to read through them again), I must be able to give some sort of "HowTo"
guide to the translators, if they have to render the slides locally and

I'm going to try out the german ones, if I find some time today.

Let me explain in more details the "problem" I am having because I
failed to do so in my original message.

I edited the .sed files and committed them without any issue. I
presume you have seen them on the server. By the way, they do not
display correctly even in my browser.

I also rendered images locally and confirmed that the *text* in the
rendered images looked just fine.

However, the problem I have is that those images did not have the
background image. The error I got during the rendering was:

** (inkscape:8096): WARNING **:
did not resolve to a valid image file (base dir is
/home/yagi2/centos/slides/Slides-1), now trying
sodipodi:absref="/home/al/Desktop/CentOS/artwork/trunk/Themes/TreeFlower/Wallpapers/img/wallpaper-fog.png"

** (inkscape:8096): WARNING **: Unable to open linked file:
/home/al/Desktop/CentOS/artwork/trunk/Themes/TreeFlower/Wallpapers/img/wallpaper-fog.png

At that point I thought I should ask you to do the rendering step
because the .sed files on the server are correct even if they do not
display in the browser.

I would like to be able to render locally. I must be missing
something simple. Could you help?

Yes, why not ? :)

I would like to promote the following idea:
- ---
Text translations, and image rendering for CentOS Slides is something
that everybody can do in its own system (in a not so difficult way).
Just 3 steps:

1. Get your working copy from our svn artwork repository [1].
2. Do your changes ( Translations / Rendering [2] )
3. Commit your changes to make them available.
- ---

To get commit access an account in
https://projects.centos.org/trac/artwork/ is needed. After that, show
your trac user and request the commit access in this mailing list.

[1] https://projects.centos.org/svn/artwork/
[2] needs to have Inkscape already installed in the system.

No, you see it there because I did a svn copy from 6 and still haven't

so feel free to update it.

You are right ... I've forgot to commit this translation files. Wait a
bit ... I'm doing it now, also adding the ones for CentOS 4.

Thanks,

https://projects.centos.org/trac/artwork/browser/trunk/Translations/5/Themes/Anaconda/Progress

returns

  Internal Error

No node /trunk/Translations/5/Themes/Anaconda/Progress at revision 443

You can search

in the repository history to see if that path existed but was later removed.

[CentOS-docs] Anaconda Slides Translations

2009-01-06 Thread Alain Reguera Delgado

Hi Guys,

Our Anaconda Slide rendering environment is near to be functional, so
I'm wondering if you'd like to add new slides and if translators could
take a look at the translations we have now ?

Actually we have two Slide designs to choose from:

1. The common Title, Content slides [1].
2. The common Title, Content slides plus related icon [2].

Both Slides use the same translation files.

Anaconda translation files are organized by CentOS versions. This way we
could have different slides, with probably different texts (due specific
version technical characteristics) for each CentOS major version/release.

All Anaconda translation files[3] are in our subversion artwork
repository, available for you to checkout.

Translators wanting to help should download a working copy of the
language directory they want to update and then commit the changes back
into the subversion repository (remember to do a svn update before
committing changes). Slides images will be built using those translations.
