[CentOS-virt] KVM and shared disc...
Hi all I have deploy some VM's with MS Windows 2008 R2. I deploy it using virt-manager, on CentOS 6. On the same host where I installed CentOS I have installed LIO-Target to, in order to providing iSCSI storage to VM's, 'cause I need install Windows Cluster failover here. I was work with iSCSI initiator from inside each VM's but this pratice show me very instable situations. Now, I use iscsi-initiator direct from host, on physical linux server and I try to seek the iSCSI storage from that host... I was capable to found the device and attached into VM settings, via virt-manager. But, when I try to start the VM, I get this message: libvirtError: internal error Process exited while reading console log output char device redirected to /dev/pts/2 qemu-kvm+ -device lsi,id=scsi0,bus=pci.0,addr=0x7: Parameter 'driver' expects a driver name Try with argument '?' for a list Someone has take this error someday??? This Freenas VM server iSCSI storage to 4 VM with Windows 2008 R2 Cluster FailOver solution... I installed Freenas ´cause I was needed iSCSI with Persistent Reservation on it in order to deploy Cluster FailOver on MS WIndows 2008 R2... I hope this can help you too... Regards 2011/1/28 carlopmart carlopm...@gmail.com: Hi all, I need to install a virtual machine acting as a virtual storage server under CentOS 5.x (using kvm, xen, virtualbox or vmware). This virtual storage machine needs to server storage to another ESXi server and at the same time to the host where is installed. This is due to the limitations of hardware I have available. Both hosts needs to server several machines. It is very important that the virtual machine consumes the least resources possible (host has 5GB RAM and i need to run three virtual machines minimum, including this storage server as a virtual machine). Re: [CentOS-virt] which virtualization platform to choose
Hi... How manu guest do you running?? thanks 2010/7/26 compdoc comp...@hotrodpc.com: KVM seems to have a future in centos. I have a couple of servers running kvm, with only 4 cores per server. I tend use 1 real core for each virtual cpu assigned to the guests, because I don't need that many guests. So, I can't speak to scaling... Performance is excellent, however. It's been a year or more since I've tried ESXi or xen on ubuntu, but I was always disappointed in the speed at which the guests ran. That's why I turned to xenserver for its speed and GUI, and then to KVM for its speed and complete control over things like nics and network configurations.
