Re: [ceph-users] packages for Trusty

2014-04-29 Thread Dane Elwell
Hello list,

It appears there are Trusty packages available from the ceph.com repos
as I installed Emperor (0.72) from them on Trusty yesterday.

The sources.list entry was:

deb http://ceph.com/debian-emperor/ trusty main

I also had to pin the packages from this repo to avoid installing the
Trusty packages (which are currently 0.79). In
/etc/apt/preferences.d/ceph.pref:

Package: *
Pin: origin ceph.com
Pin-Priority: 600

Thanks

Dane

fact that inktank consider stable production version of ceph to be dumpling
should explain that much (that is what they sell). Why carring for today's

It makes me nervous though. I haven't stressed it much, and I don't really
want to roll it out to production.

I would like to see Emperor builds for Trusty, so I can get started rolling
out Trusty independently of Firefly. Changing one thing at a time is
invaluable when bad things start happening.

You can actually just install it using the Ubuntu packages. I did it yesterday
on Trusty.

Thanks guys. I don't know why I didn't try that. I guess just too much
habit of setting up the additional repo. =)
