Unfortunately a few have spoiled it for the many. I know that I have had in the 15 years that I have been in the business more than a few clients with bad experiences etc. There have been several instances of consultants neglecting the work due to the fact they took several remote assignments etc. Todd Bonner Resource Development Manager Modis (803) 451-3770 Office (803) 227-3020 Fax todd.bon...@modis.com 1122 Lady Street Suite 640 Columbia, SC 29201 www.modis.com "The man who complains about the way the ball bounces is likely the one who dropped it."- Lou Holtz -Original Message- From: Adam Haskell [mailto:a.hask...@gmail.com] Sent: Tuesday, August 18, 2009 3:59 PM To: cf-jobs-talk Subject: Re: Backlash against telecommuting.. Re: Backlash against telecommuting..
There are a lot of positives that come from working on site as well. Especially if you have a niche business and the programmers see how the business operates and are able to see things that will help efficiency. Our company has flown in developers many times for meetings, we do a mixture of in house and telecommuters. Simple economics When the economy is doing well and skilled labour is hard to findemployers consider ALL options that may get them the quality staff they need. Backlash against telecommuting..
I'm in Raleigh, NC. There's not a lot of ColdFusion work down here, so I've been trying to grab what I can get in the contract market. (There are other factors that prevent me from moving) Last year at this time there were a lot of telecommuting positions available, they seem to have dried up.
