RE: CF 9 - Administrator
I installed IIS6 compatibility mode, then removed connectors. It worked this time. Rebooted, installed connectors. Same error. When I add connectors I am checking the box configure web server for CF9 applications. -Original Message- From: Andrew Scott [mailto:andr...@andyscott.id.au] Sent: Wednesday, March 21, 2012 7:04 PM To: cf-talk Subject: Re: CF 9 - Administrator Russ, CF 9.01 is native IIS7 so not sure what you mean by the CHF for that. -- Regards, Andrew Scott WebSite: http://www.andyscott.id.au/ Google+: http://plus.google.com/108193156965451149543 On Thu, Mar 22, 2012 at 9:52 AM, Russ Michaels wrote: > > do you have IIS6 compatibility mode installed ? > if not then you need the latest CHF installed to use IIS 7 native handlers > and the web config tool wont work without it. > > On Wed, Mar 21, 2012 at 10:23 PM, Greg Edmonds > wrote: > > > > > I tried this and it didn't work. do you have IIS6 compatibility mode installed ? if not then you need the latest CHF installed to use IIS 7 native handlers and the web config tool wont work without it. I tried this and it didn't work. Funny thing is I tried to remove them and I get an error saying IIS cannot remove the extensions .cfm... etc. I tried it with cold fusion service stopped and started. Along with IIS. And of course tried it with both started. I did add the extensions as well, still the same error. -Original Message- From: Russ Michaels [mailto:r...@michaels.me.uk] Sent: Wednesday, March 21, 2012 4:17 PM To: cf-talk Subject: Re: CF 9 - Administrator use the website config tool to disable/enable CF on the default website. CF 9 - Administrator
Hello, I have 64 bit CF 9.01 installed on 64 bit Windows 2008. All sites work fine, but I can't get to the Administrator. The error code below is what shows: coldfusion.runtime.CfJspPage._validateTagAttrValue(Ljava/lang/String;L java/lang/String;Ljava/lang/String;)Ljava/lang/String; null The error occurred on line 28. I have upgraded JVM, thought that might help. It didn't. I tried to set IIS to allow 32 bit applications, and that blows everything up. Anyone have any ideas? I am lost. Re: Admin System - Temp Tables? Advice?
Most of the case, the user does not want a new item to be published bedore it is completed. For existing items, only little adjustements are made and this may be done on line. If it is your case, just add some Active logical field in the table and display the item only if the active flag is set. ~| Order the Adobe Coldfusion Anthology now! http://www.amazon.com/Adobe-Coldfusion-Anthology/dp/1430272155/?tag=houseoffusion Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-talk/message.cfm/messageid:350506 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-talk/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-talk/unsubscribe.cfm

You need an external web server for that (IIS or Apache). Alternatively, you could install another CF instance into your multiserver install, which would have its own web server (probably on TCP/8301). I would create an actual persistent table for this - if you literally mean a temporary table, that table will only last while the database session is active, and could go out of scope before the user has completed his edits. Re: Admin System - Temp Tables? Advice?
I have done this three ways. I had an edit table (like your temp table) and that worked fairly well. I did versioning as Jason mentioned, that was a bit of a PITA. The other way was to use a "preview" page and I submitted the form data to the preview page via AJAX and populated it that way. The Ajax method worked best with simple pages i.e. not a lot of joins. re: Admin System - Temp Tables? Advice?
Or have a 'versions' table attached to the 'page' table. Versions can have status, with a maximum of 1 'published' for any given pageID, and versions can have publicationStart and publicationEnd dates. Gives you the flexibility of rolling back to previous versions as well. Just a thought. From: "Les Mizzell" Sent: Wednesday, March 21, 2012 12:22 PM To: "cf-talk" Subject: Admin System - Temp Tables? Re: Local Dev Environment Troubles w/ Virtual Host- CF Builder
if you run CF in multiserver mode then you could create a new cf instance for each site, in which case you can have a separate web root/virtual host for each site as well using the built in web server This would probably be overkill for most people though. If you are running windows 7 then you can install a FULL ediiton of IIS7, I suggest downloading the "web platform installer" and using this to setup a web server as it also does a lot of other stuff too On Wed, Mar 21, 2012 at 6:13 AM, Andrew Scott wrote: > > I have no idea to be totally honest, but I think it is for Apache.
