The only thing I've been able to get work in the title is to just strip them
out COMPLETELY. Anything else gets me "&apos" back in all the titles...

What I REALLY don't understand is - why do they appear correctly in the
description?

I think I've found the problem.

I've got a stupid number of cleaning routines that everything goes through
before it gets to the cffeed tag - mainly because the client does EVERYTHING in
MS Word, then paste.

At the end of the "clean" chain, before cffeed I do this:

If I REMOVE the xmlformat and just do this:

All my problems seem to go away.

OK, somebody tell me WHY? I though xmlformat was supposed to escape the
problems I was having...

mapping question

2012-08-17 Thread Eric Roberts

If I have a mapping set up of /Log pointing to
c:\inetpub\wwwroot\inventorylog and the file is located in
c:\inetpub\wwwroot\inventorylog\acceptreq and I then try to go to
http://sitename/Log/acceptReq/15BC0EE1-F3FC-6A8C-90D99A7D8B54BDD3.xml, it
should display the file? This should hold true if I use a cf mapping or an
IIS mapping, right? I am obviously missing something minor here as I get a
404 when I go to the actual site (sitename is obviously not the real name).
Also. Reference to /Log/ are not working. The log files are not getting
written.we are not receiving any errors, but no file and it doesn't appear
be getting written anywhere. You would think that if the reference was
wrong or something else was off, we would get an error. Help!

Re: mapping question

2012-08-17 Thread Maureen

First, I would move the log files out of the webroot. Having logs under
your webroot is not good security.

Then do a mapping to that directory.

As for writing the files, the directory will need to have write permissions
(another reason for it not to be webroot). Often problems with permissions
will not return errors.

No. CF mappings only affect CF code (CFINCLUDE, CFMODULE, etc). You
need an IIS mapping (virtual directory) to make the directory
available to HTTP requests.

The code was referring to the mapping in cf...I also had a virtual directory
pointing to the directory.

You posted a URL though, which indicates you need a web server mapping

In that case, you probably have something else going on. And anyway,
your URL is a static file, not a CF file, so CF shouldn't even be
involved at that point.
