CF Service Pack 1 or 2, or Both

2000-12-14 Thread Andrew C. Davis

I am running CF 4.5.1 Pro. I have not installed any service packs. I
know there have been two service packs published by Allaire. Does SP2
encompass all that was included in SP1, or do I need to install SP1,
then SP2?

Thanks,

OT: Country Select Field Code Needed

2000-05-25 Thread Andrew C. Davis

Sorry for the off topic post, but I need the code for a select field
where one can select a Country Name where the Value="Country Name".

Example of what I need ...

   United States
   .
   .
   .

I'm too lazy to create this on my own and can't find what I need on the
web. Does anybody have this code to include the major countries of the
world?

Thanks,

Form Field Validation - No Spaces

2000-05-25 Thread Andrew C. Davis

I have a form that has fields that, when validated, allow the user to
enter "spaces". I want to be able to check for fields that contain only
spaces and then inform the user that they must enter text. How do I do
this?

Form Verification

2000-05-17 Thread Andrew C. Davis

I have a form that has about 40 fields, with close to 15 being required.
I've written some cfif statements (...)
which work fine, except if someone inserts a space rather than
text/numbers. The logic thinks the space is actually text/numbers. I
know there must be a better way to verify forms using cf than what I
have done thus far. Are there any other ideas?

OT: Scrolling Text Box Javascript Needed

2000-04-27 Thread Andrew C. Davis

Sorry for the off-topic post.

I'm looking for a javascript or applet that will scroll text links from
either top to bottom or bottom to top.

I haven't had much luck with javascripts.com as the site seems to be
crawling, or is down much of the time. I've also checked
javascript.internet.com and haven't found much there either.

Does anybody have a good source for a script like this for me?

Changing Domain Names

2000-04-17 Thread Andrew C. Davis

I've changed domain names one my sites from www.site1.com to
www.site2.com. Currently www.site1.com and www.site2.com both point to
the same site.

What I want to do is prompt a user who comes into my site from the
original url (www.site1.com) to update their bookmarks to the new url.

I know there is a real simple solution to this, but I want to find out
what some others have done. Any ideas?

CF 4.5 and Port 25

2000-04-17 Thread Andrew C. Davis

I've recently upgraded to CF 4.5 Pro and eversince, my SMTP software,
which uses port 25, does not work. Does CF 4.5 "take over" port 25?

Thanks again Billy. However, upon further testing I've found that just
the mere presence of an Application.cfm file causes the "no frames ..."
message to appear. I have removed all cfm code from both the frames
page and the Application.cfm page. If I rename the Application.cfm page
to Application.htm, the frames page shows up w/o a problem. Still
awaiting further suggestions.

Thanks,

Thanks Billy. However, I now can see the files, but am unable to open
them This holds true for the remote server and localhost. Nothing
happens when I double-click the filename. Any other ideas?

Studio 4.5.1 Problems (RDS and Help)

2000-04-10 Thread Andrew C. Davis

Couple problems ...

First ...

In 4.0.1, I had a tab to connect to RDS servers. After I upgraded, they
went away. How do I connect to my old RDS servers? When installing, I
chose to save all my old settings.

Second ...

I tried to search on RDS in the help pages. The first time I searched,
the program indexed all the help pages. However, in the middle, it
died. Now when I open up the help section and do a search (say, on
RDS), nothing comes back. Is there a way to re-index the help pages.

Application.cfm / Cross-Site Scripting

2000-04-10 Thread Andrew C. Davis

I have a working website that does not employ the application.cfm file,
yet. My initial homepage (index.cfm) is a frames page.

In the website, I have a form for users to fill out. This form displays
the contents of the form in a printable format. I am trying to prevent
the user from inserting malicious code into the form, then executing it
from the printable format page mentioned earlier.

To prevent this, I downloaded and am testing the cf_inputfilter tag. I
have put this tag code in an application.cfm page in the root directory
of my website.

Since putting this application.cfm page in the root directory, my
initial homepage tells me that my browser does not support frames, when
in fact it does (NS 4.7). I am using CF4.5 on an NT box.

Any ideas?

CF-Studio Extended Replace

2000-04-07 Thread Andrew C. Davis

CF Studio/Server 4.01

I want to do an extended replace on a folder on my RDS server. I can
view the folders and files on the RDS server w/in Studio, but when I go
to do the extended replace, the app won't let me browse the folders on
the RDS server. It only lets me browse my local hard drive. Is there
any way to get around this? Or is there another way to go about doing
an extended replace on a folder/subfolder on an RDS server?

Checking http-refferrer Variables

2000-03-27 Thread Andrew C. Davis

I am building a template where I need to check the http-refferrer
variable to make sure it includes text from the same machine. This does
not have to be an exact match, but just include the correct system name.

Does anyone have an sample cf code to check that a variable contains
specific text? An example is below ...
