Re: Accessing SSIS package

2008-04-20 Thread Bob Clingan
Happy Saturday!
I created an SSIS package and deployed it to my SQL Server, but what I am
trying to figure out is how to trigger it using ColdFusion. Do I need to
create an SP or a trigger to do this? I know in the past with DTS packages
we would use the CFOBJECT tag to invoke it.

Thanks,

Bruce

Re: Accessing SSIS package

2008-04-20 Thread Bob Clingan
You should be able to run it using CFEXECUTE to run an app called DTEXEC.exe.
Check out the docs here:

Re: SOT: Where to buy CF8 WACK (probably again)

2007-11-06 Thread Bob Clingan
Sometimes it pays to wait a little. I know for Part 1, I was able to buy it
used from Amazon and with shipping it still only cost me $20- less than half
price!

--Bob

I just got a notice from Amazon.com that Parts 2 and 3 of the CF8 WACK
are being delayed -

Part 2 is scheduled to arrive between 11/29 and 12/1.
Part 3 is scheduled to arrive between 12/28 and 12/31

This represents almost a month's delay!

I did a quick look at BN.com and they're showing November ship
dates... have they just not updated their product info or would it be
worth it for me to tell Amazon to cancel the order and re-order from
BN?

Or is there a better place to order from?

Thanks!
Hatton

Validation of Date on Form

2005-07-06 Thread Bob Clingan
You will to write regular expressions to check for those types of dates you
want to allow. Don't forget about sanity checks like 31st in a month with 30
days and leap year.

I've got a number of forms in an administration area that will accept a
date in any number of formats

mm/dd/
mm/dd/yy
July 4, 2005

...and so on...

I need a way to validate this field so if somebody types something other
than an accepted date (like Bob) they get an alert saying Please
format your date like X.

Looks pretty easy with CF 7, but their host ain't running CF 7.

Suggestions?

RE: ColdFusion Error Messages

2005-06-22 Thread Bob Clingan
Sounds like a bug then.

If a user gets an error message, they usually either take a
screenshot or print it out- but printing it out yields some
 ugly results.

I have the same problem here - but only with IE.

Re: Conditional Select Boxes

2005-04-04 Thread Bob Clingan
Yeah, there is one example, but

1. Its IE only
2. Its a little flaky

--Bob

I saw on a blog not too long ago that someone was working on a XSL
file to integrate qForms which maybe could lead to an interesting
approach to doing n-selects. If you are using the flash forms feature
there are a few examples floating around on the net on how to do two
selects related boxes, I believe one of those can be found on
www.cfform.com

Re: Split ouptut to MULTIPLIE sheets in Excel.

2004-11-02 Thread Bob Clingan
If you are using a fairly recent version of Excel, you can format your data as XML and
Excel can read that in. Create a dummy file in Excel and export it as XML for the
syntax.

I have some reports that have a requirement of being in Excel format.
However, the returned datasets have the ability to be more than 65,000
records. Instead of creating multipe files, does anyone know of a way
to format the data to automatically split this data to multiple
sheets?
