video gallery / audio gallery?

2007-06-29 Thread Dwayne Cole
I am working on a site for a small church that would like to broacast video
excerpts of the pastor's sermons and audio excerpts of the churh chior.

Does any one know of a video display gallery of the likes of cnn.com,
video.yahoo.com, or youTube. I do not need a full application, I just need
something that I can feed an xml file.

Likewise I am looking for a similar audio gallery that supports mp3 files.

Dwayne,
Not sure if this is exactly what you are looking for but thought I would pass
it on.

It does video, audio, stills and is driven by XML. Oh yeah, and it's free!

I'm a newbie, nobie, better yet tried-to-be user of Flash, so are you saying I
should just import the movie file into flash, save it as a .swf file then
configure the xml to pull in the .swf file instead of the .jpg files? Well
what about the play back controlls etc.

You can simply import your video clips into a flash movie clip, then pull

OT: newbie FB5? or newbie FB6

2007-06-16 Thread Dwayne Cole
I stopped using fusebox once FB3 was implement. It just got a little to
complex for me. However I stuck with the basic concepts of fuses and
circuites. My circuit files are still basically one big cfswitch / cfcase tag.

I am considering moveing to FB5. It seems attractive becuase the Fusebox
Framework appears to be blackbox and it seems that I don't need to ticker with
any non-value added details.

I am also attracted to the concept of converting my cfswitch structure to a
nice circuit.xml file. Furthermore the dot notation for the fuseaction
request is very appealing; now my index.cfm?action=
browseFirmperform=showService List can be replaced with index.cfm?fuseacti
on=browseFirm. showServiceList  Cool.

Basically I like alot about th FB5 format but now there's talk about FB6 or
FBMX. Should I wait?

Re: OT: newbie FB5? or newbie FB6

2007-06-16 Thread Dwayne Cole
Well, what about invoking functions from within the circuit.xml file. Again, I
am thinking about upgrading the framework that I use (a modified fusebox
framework).

FB5 looks good but I wanted to move away from the act_add_member.cfm and
qry_list_member.cfm methodology which seperates database calls to the same
entity into two files; to a methodology that puts all member database request
in one file with dmany functions. In other words, a member cfc file. I am
concerned that fusebox does not support nor leverage the value of .cfc objects.

Since Fusebox 4.1 and the incorporation of the total rewrite it has been a
priority to make all new releases of FB be backwards compatible. Essentially
anything that runs in 5 is going to work in 5.5 and 6.0.

I would say start to dive in now since there isn't going to be such a large
rewrite in the future where you are going to have to learn a bunch of new
things. The changes like we saw in 3 4.1 are not going to happen in a
future release for a very very long time.

Tight work! Good job adobe. I look forward to using cf8. I am using CF 6 on
my production machine and 7 on my development machine. I plan to upgrad my
production machine to CF8 standard. I can't afford the enterprise addition.
Does anyone now the proposed price points for new and upgrades. Furthermore,
does anyone know what features are only in the Enterprise addition. I was
always very attracted to the reporting features of cf 7 but it seemed like the
cool stuff was in the enterprise edition.

RE: MySQL dead too? THE SKY IS FALLING -- oh wait, just a *another* set of lame articles

2007-05-29 Thread Dwayne Cole
I read an article in ComputerWorld that talked about Microsoft's accusation of
patent infringment by many opensource technologies.

The article went on to say that it's just part of the Microsoft's competitive
practice to put fear in the hearts of open-source technologies and those that
adopt open-source technologies.

If this is the case, I'm sure that Public Relations Departments are putting
pressure on the Magazines to knock certain technologies. Microsoft's probably
spends 100's of Millions on Ad Space in InfoWorld, ComputerWorld, CIO etc.
Surely these Magazines want to protect these ad dollars.

A little perspective...

Journalists make their money by writing about topics that people will read.
Two topics are especially reliable eyeball magnets for manager-types whose
business philosophy reflects whatever magazine article they read last week.

1. What is the next 'big thing'?

2. What formerly big thing is on it's way out?

Most decision-makers have a healthy respect for the amount of money (sunk
cost) that they have in a particular technology. Businesses that drop a
technology just because a magazine article told them to will not be in
business for very long.

Perhaps 'everybody else' is converting everything to .NET or Java, but
real-world businesses are still investing in their AS400, Powerbuilder, and
Visual FoxPro applications. ColdFusion by comparison is far better off than
those technologies.

My advice: Do your best work and don't be a sucker for the games that
journalists play.

That was pretty much as bad as the InfoWeek one, just in a different
way. One of the dumbest parts is that they spend several of the eight
points complaining about the license when *all* software has license
issues unless *you* negotiate a better one - how many businesses would
not install Windows if they really cared about licensing issues?

What a pair of poorly researched and argued articles -- both

The URL looks fine. Again when I copie and past the URL into the Browser, it
works. Maybe the problem is with the shortcuts effort to open the browser. I
thought about changing the file associations for .cfm files to IE but then when

These are served up using virtual URLs, which have the pattern
/CFIDE/GraphData.cfm if I recall correctly. Depending on your web server
configuration, it may be rejecting these requests. I think you can fix this
by simply creating a valid file (that doesn't do anything) at that path.

However, it coughs up every time each reaches a field that contains '
/ and other special characters. Are there any other tools that can
move the data from access to mySQL without skipping the tables that
contains fields with such special characters.

you could try navicat. navicat.com free trial

My real problem is that the imports cough up on fields that contain data with
the following characters ' / .

Have you looked at DataMgr yet? You can take an existing Access db and
it can create an XML 'schema' that can then be ported over to another
platform (MySQL, MSSQL, etc.) Might not do all the work for you
(especially moving from Access) but it will do a lot. Pretty sure you
can find it on RIAForge.

Dwayne - there's a button called Import Wizard in Navicat that should let
you do this. You have to be in Table mode to see that button. When you
click that button there is an option MS Access (.mdb) down toward the
 bottom.

Re: Which Framework do you use... (if any)

2007-04-30 Thread Dwayne Cole

Application.cfm (part of the pre-CF7 built-in application framework).
Short of that, Application.cfc with a private method that gets invoked
onRequestStart. This is inferior, I think, but necessary if you need
some of the other Application.cfc hooks (like onSessionEnd).

And let the flame-war begin ;)

More specifically, what types of application parameters should be set up at
application initiation. In my applications, I query the database to setup my
entire navigation systems (an array of structures) then I store it in the
application scope. I also store DSN information in application scope.

In some frameworks, information is pulled from an XML configuration file.
Fusebox has these abstract circuits that I think are stored in the application
scope. I am not sure what Mach-II stores in the application scope upon
application initiation.

The question is not how to use application.cfm but what makes up a solid
application scope variable enviornment? What's in the application scope
variable enviornment of Mach-II, Fusebox etc.

Re: Which Framework do you use... (if any)

2007-04-28 Thread Dwayne Cole
You will have a hard time convincing me that one methodology is better than
another. You can not separate the methodology from the developer's
(individuals and development shops) acquired skills, preferences, and other
best practices. I bet there are few people who use any one of these
methodologies exclusively or with out some sort of customization.

It would be helpful however to compare how each framework handles common
functions for example. I break my applications up in to a Model, View,
Controller files.

Model files (.cfm or.cfc) handle my database interactions particularly my CRUD
functions. I'm split as to whether i should develop my Model files and .cfc's
or .cfm and call them when I need them.

View files are responsible for display side. I wrap display code (list, forms
etc) with functions and cfsavecontent.

Controller files are responsible for controlling user request and I use a
modified fusebox approach. For example index.cfm?action = dothis. The index
file is basically a cfswitch expression with many cfcases.

From a framework perspective, I would be interesting in knowing:

1). What framework best manages variable scoping (what should go into the
application scope, what should go into request scope etc)

2). What framework leverages the best practices for setting up and integrating
Model level functionality. (Transfer, Reactor ect)

3). What framework leverages the best practices for structuring and calling
View or display oriented functionality.

4). What framework leverages the best practices for organizing Controller
Files

5). What framework leverages the best library of UDF's for extending
coldfusion's data, formatting, scheduling, etc functions.

Basically each framework works better on one level or another but fall short of
others. I would like to see a move towards FRAMEWORK SEGMENTATION for
example a strong framework for handling Model level functions in a way that
allows me to use something else for handling my View components. Likewise a
strong and flexible View framework (including integrated gui css) the
leverages Ajax and allows for one to output smart list, web 2.0 forms, etc.
Finally, a framework that effectively handles application specific variables,
what types of application variables should be stored in what scope and in what
form (database, .txt file, xml etc) For example most store DSN in the
application scope. I also store my navigation system in the application scope.

Maybe I should clarify.

When I fetch the XML file with
cfhttpurl=http://www.somewebsite.com/rss/someRss.xml;method=get

the resulting CFHTTP.FileContent variables contains the following lines

?xml version=1.0 encoding=UTF-8?
?xml-stylesheet type=text/xsl href=news_rss.xsl?

I need some code to parse / remove the above lines from the chttp.fileconent
variable. Once I have removed the above lines the XML would then be well
formed.

It must have a single root element to be valid.

Any thoughts about this. I currently use Pluck for RSS feeds but it does not

Thing is I know I'm not supposed to put any presentation
stuff in them. But say for example I had a poll cfc. I can
run all of the actions through the CFC fine, but why not add
some optional basic html (i.e. form results) so that if
wanted, the whole poll could be encapsulated within the one
file and in theory could be added to any site with just a
couple of lines of code. If the basic form results didn't
suit I could then go for a tailored option for the sites that
needed it but all would still be based on the one cfc.

So would this a bad thing and why?

I think there are always exceptions to the rule on this, in our e-Commerce
system, there are several places where I would want to render a shopping
basket and I need to render it in both HTML and text only versions. If I
were to do these sections of code outside of the CFC's then it would be a
nightmare however, having a couple of functions in the basket CFC to
renderHTMLBasket and renderTEXTBasket means that I have complete consistency
across the site and I only have to bug fix/maintain a couple of functions.

What those functions *don't* do is output any HTML or TEXT direct to the
calling page, instead, I use cfsavecontent and return the generated content
from the functions as a string. That way, I am still keeping the CFC's away
from direct interaction with the pages but I am generating a small amount of
content using those same CFC's.

HTH

Paul

(I imagine so), what's the method?

In my case, I'd like to just have another cffunction block in the same
CFC file, so that, say, function1 and function2 both can call function3
at some point, within that file.

I just blogged about this, but wanted to share with cf-talk as well...

CFMBB 1.20 is in beta now! It includes many new features, including support
for user groups, restricting forum access to specific user groups,
integration of the CFOpenChat chat software, addition of basic content
management features with integrated file manager (CFFM).

Themes have been simplified in that the navigation is no longer included
in the header/footer pages. Previous versions of the themes included with
CFMBB used wrapping tables, which aren't used any more.

Version 1.20 also includes several bug fixes, adds support for Bluedragon 7
(they've implemented a new built-in CFML function called querySort, which
was the name of one of the UDFs in CFMBB, so I had to change its name to
qrySort)

This is not an official release, but if you'd like to download the beta for
testing, it's here: www.cfmbb.org/cfmbb-1.20b.zip

any particularly good places to seek out CF employment. The company I

do some heavy CF development for less than I could make at McDonald's.
Thanks for any suggestions!

I've just updated the CFMBB 1.20 beta download with an updated access
database. I also ran through a test installation on SQL Server and MySQL.

I have *NOT* tested it on Access... I don't have the ODBC service configured
on the windows server I use here at work, and the version of Coldfusion that
I'm running on my desktop isn't suitable for testing. =)

2007-02-21 Thread Dwayne Cole
   cfquery datasource=datasource name=Expedition
SELECT ID
FROM tbl_Ecotourism
/cfquery

You might want to try this

In the application file try this:
CFSET request.datasource = database_01

In the cfc try this:
cfquery datasource=#request.datasource# name=Expedition

You did not include the # signs around the variable name. Thats part of the
problem.

Yes they are available, however they do need to be in the Application
scope, the initial post was just creating global variables which are
not available to the CFC rather than Application variables. Similarly
as someone has pointed out, the use of the variable was not surrounded
with hashes so the literal word datasource was being used rather than
the value of datasource

Eric if I was not comitted, I would use your approach. It doesn't cost much and
i think it's just alot easier to back out of.

However, everything depends of the scope and the size of your project. My
son's toy boat works fine in the bath tub but in the open ocean, we might have
a few problems. Likewise I don't think a cruise ship will go over well with my
wife, at least not as a toy for the kids.

I think is has something to do with coupling or decoupling or something like
that.

// instantiate Image CFC

 cffunction name=init returntype=user access=public output=false
  cfargument name=dsn type=string required=yes /
  cfset variables.dsn = arguments.dsn /

Passing the dsn to the CFC in the create object?? Is this correct or should
I change my ways?

Always looking to better my skill

With the growing number of ColdFusion developers using AjaxCFC for
jQuery, I felt it was important to announce a new development that will
dramatically benefit their ability to deliver RIA applications.

I'm proud to announce that the open source jQuery Project and Jack
Slocum’s open source Ext (aka YUI-Ext) Project, have partnered to
integrate the amazingly lightweight and powerful jQuery framework with
Ext’s awesome UI library. This collaboration will greatly enhance the
capabilities of both projects and expand the functionality available to
developers using the jQuery JavaScript Library and the Ext UI component
suite.

With AjaxCFC for jQuery's tight integration of the jQuery library,
ColdFusion developers will now have world class components to choose
from when building their web applications. As more details of the
relationship become apparent, I will work with Rob Gonda to see how to
offer even tighter coupling with AjaxCFC.

For more details please visit here:

It's server-side agnostic. It's a client-side solution, just XHTML and

OK how do you enable NO_BACKSLASH_ESCAPES and what would be the impact of me

1) not sure
2) add the pane (perspective) to the fast view...this will minimize
it to an icon on the side of the screen (not sure which side by
default, but I end up dragging it to the left side). clicking the
icon will open it. clicking anywhere else (like back in the editor
after you've opened the file you want) will automatically close it.

When configuring the RDS connection did you get the connection successs
message?

I had a similar problem but on Friday I finally upgraded to 3.2 Eclipse/ 1.3
CFEcplise and set the connection port to 80 (localhost), it all worked just
fine and I really like the results (after 3 weeks of frustration).

I just installed Eclipse 3.2.1, CFEclipse 1.3 and I downloaded the most
recent version of the Flex Builder trial (2.0.1). I ran the extraction
for the trial and but didn't run the installer. I did get the ColdFusion
Extensions folder with the CF_FB_Extensions.zip file in it. Eclipse
seemed happy to install that when I installed it as a local archive. I'm
successfully able to add in a RDS server but no files will open nor will
  data from tables.

Any thoughts on what's not working in my setup?

Thanks in advance,
Judah

Re: RDS in CFECLIPSE. What's Wrong?

2007-01-03 Thread Dwayne Cole
There is no such thing.
An RDS plugin ships with Flex Builder 2, that you can use with Eclipse 3.1 -
do you mean that ?

Yes this is exactly what I mean. Flex Builder 2 is built on Enclipse. When
you launch Flex Builder you'll see that it looks just like Eclipse. The RDS /
Coldfusion Extensions that Flex Builder uses are some what independent and you
can plug them into CFEclipse.

It's a fantastic plug-in and it seems to be the best thing since cfeclipse
itself. I just can't get the damn thing to work.

I spent a whole day messing around with this. I upgraded my development
version of cfmx from 6 to 7. I had to change my jdbc drivers from mysql 5 back
to mysql 3.01 even though I using mysql 5.
Did all of this just to get the RDS plug-in to work and it still doesn't work.

I delete the files but it still behaves like there there. I disable the plug
in and can't figure out how to enable. The test connection works but the
acutal connection fails.

Now I just want to remove the plugin and try to reinstall it but I can even do
that.

I'm now ready to switch from Access to mySQL. Yeah, yeah what took me so long?
I had my reasons but now I'm ready and I was wondering if anyone could provide
me with some recommended administration tools.

Current Development
Coldfusion 6.1
CFEclipse

I co-locate and every time I need to work with a datasource I download the
MSAccess file to my local machine, make the changes then quickly upload the
updated version. It's akward. Particularly considering that I manage as
many as 25 live data sources (all with the same table structure). From my
understanding, this wont work with mySQL because mySQL databases are not

What are the top 7 things I should do when I set up mySQL server on my
collocated box? I remember reading something like

1) never login under the root account always create another administrator
account

2). be sure to set up a 'COLDFUSIONMX' user account and give it full privileges.

3). ...

I figure you all would have a few best practices that should work. I want to
make sure that I establish a good foundation by covering some basic security,
performance, and management issues. In other words if you had a fresh start
with mySQL how would you set it up.

A second for Navicat... it's $100 (if the price is still the same), but
when I first began to use MySQL a few years ago, it made the switch
from Access a *lot* easier.

The interface is very intuitive and it's a complete management tool for
your MySQL DB's, including scheduled backup.

Highly Recommended...

Re: newbie: Tools to use with MySQL

2006-12-22 Thread Dwayne Cole
Thanks Jochem, you have always provided me with extraordinary advice regarding
database and ODBC issues. But I need to stop playing around and make this
switch, I think I have outgrown MS Access, or I like that I have. One of my MS
Access database is 21 megs. It has more than 60 tables and in one table theres
15,000 records. This is before going live. I am not comfortable with MS
Access under this condition.

mySQL databases are not files. I wondering what's the process then.

If you need to change the database, you send it the appropriate SQL command.
Either by typing the command yourself, or by using a GUI that translates your
clicks to the appropriate command and sends it.

Re: CASE statement in MySQL

2006-12-22 Thread Dwayne Cole
There a lot of funny business going on in this SQL statement. I would try to
accomplish the logic outside the SQL statement. I you need conditionals I
would limited to cfif statements any thing more than that seems a little
messy for lack of a better term.

Hey SQL gurus,

I am trying to use a CASE statement in a MySQL query to conditionally update
a number of rows in a table.

However, if I try to use anything in the THEN clause other than a string,
it fails with Error in SQL syntax.

I am trying to set values in the table differently depending on a condition,
like so (simplified):

UPDATE myTable
SET
CASE WHEN cond1
THEN col1 = col1 - 1, col2 = col2 - 1
WHEN cond2
THEN col1 = col1 - 2, col2 = col2 - 2
etc.
END

I also tried putting the SET after the THEN and it also fails.

Is there any way to make this happen all in one query, or am I going to have
to go outside of SQL and do a CF loop?

If you have a text editor capable of changing case, then it would probably
be just as easy to select the whole column, paste it into your text editor,
changing case all at once, then paste it back in.

I do that sort of thing all the time.

CFFM has been updated with PNG manipulation support and I fixed a little
bug that was in 1.12.

Previous versions of CFFM only allowed manipulation of JPG images.

http://www.cfopen.org/projects/cffm

As a side note, I'm preparing to release a new image CFC based on Jim
Dew's original work. It will be more robust, and I'm playing with java
renderinghints and jpeg compression to try to increase the quality of
the output. Please email me off list if you are interested in either
knowing when it's done or in helping. This new image manipulation
component will be free and open source under the BSD license like all
the stuff I do, so you can do whatever you want with it.

RE: CFMX: Dissed by Breeze and FlashLite?

2005-05-02 Thread Dwayne Cole
As I've said or implied for more than 3 years on this list.

COLDFUSION NEEDS A NEW OWNER. Point Blank.

I rate there management of the product line over the last few years as an B.

It's clear that there are way more Macromedia Guys in the Board Rooms and
server as Business Unit Directors. I still now people running on off
Coldfusion 4.5 and 5.0. That's totally Macromedias Fault and RIA has been
around for a minute.

They promised that CF developers will have easier tools to integrate with Flash
but what did we get. Flex. I still have to learn Flash to build any kind of
stunning RIA.

Now hear we are more than 3 years after the big RIA push. I said on this list
that CF developers would deliver the RIA revolution before the Flash
desigerners and flash animators. And I was right. If RIA delivered what
they thought they would not be Adobe now. Cool tools, steap learning curves,
and little skills are transferable.

Lets face it the number of the shelf cfc components that work with flash is
really, really slim compare to the old Allair Exchange site.

Just my 2 cent.

Well said. Also, considering the shift in the marketing at MM, its not
surprising that they're moving towards selling to business users and not
developers.

They've already carved out their niche to developers as being the #1 honcho
when it comes to web development tools. Face it, even if they converted the
whole site to be one big banner for Flash, almost everyone on this list
would still use CF.

With alot of their newest products being specifically for business users,
its not surprising that they've chosen to put up a little eye candy...

Subject: RE: CFMX: Dissed by Breeze and FlashLite?

If I were in charge of Macromedia, I'd do exactly the same thing they're
doing. I'd be far more concerned about selling Flash and its dependent
products (Breeze, Flex, FlashComm, Flash Video, FlashLite, etc) than about
selling CF. I like CF, don't get me wrong, but it's not the unique kind of
thing that Flash is. It will always be somewhat of a niche product, no
matter how good or popular it is.

Flash, on the other hand, is clearly the most important asset that
Macromedia has. It is the core of Macromedia's business. It is the one thing
that Macromedia has, for which there's no competing product. It's installed
on practically everybody's computer.

Re: fyi: Adobe to aquire Macromedia

2005-04-18 Thread Dwayne Cole
On list, so many times we discussed managemente and strategy and Macromedia.
For a long time I felt that there product line was way to diverse. Very Good
product with extraordinary potential but to many competing consumer interest to
manage.

What next. Look to see a sell off of the parts. Breeze will proably go a
separate way maybe even ColdFusion.

They probably want dump. The better than to do is to sell the product to small
more focused organization. In other words, It's time for the Allairs of the
world to step back in, take these products with very slow and incremental
upgrade cycles and reenergize them.

Interesting times ahead.

There are going to be a lot of unhappy people all round when they start
dumping/merging competing products from either of the company's
portfolios. (I just hope GoLive gets the bin treatment)

I'm surprised that the monopolies commission (or whatever its called in
the US) hasn't had words about this really.

Sorry this is late but check cflib.org for a queryrowtostructure tag.

Thanks, Justin, that did it. I was trying this route:

 cfset qryRowData = queryNew(getVendors.columnlist)
 cfloop list=#getVendors.columnlist#
   index=i delimiters=,
 cfset
 querySetCell(qryRowData,i,getVendors[i][getVendors.currentRow])
 /cfloop

but was getting a The row number, (0) is out of bound. error.

Just as an FYI, you were getting that error because you didn't add a row to
your new query before trying to set the data cells. Right before that loop
you would need...

cfset queryAddRow(qryRowData)

.to add a row to the query before putting data in it.

Re: Chinese Character Problem, (Part 2)

2005-04-06 Thread Dwayne Cole
So on the CMS side this:

cfset setEncoding(form, iso-8859-1)
cfset setEncoding(Url, iso-8859-1)
cfcontent type=text/html; charset=iso-8859-1

should be

cfset setEncoding(form, Unicode)
cfset setEncoding(Url, Unicode)
cfcontent type=text/html; charset=Unicode

and on the Presentation side, this:

META HTTP-EQUIV=content-type CONTENT=text/html; charset=GB2312

should be

META HTTP-EQUIV=content-type CONTENT=text/html; charset=UTF-8

?

Dwayne.

Just use Unicode.

I'm using this at the top of the page.

 META HTTP-EQUIV=content-type CONTENT=text/html; charset=GB2312

OK that seems to work sometimes and other times, well.

The prefered way is to set the charset in an actual HTTP header,
i.e. using cfcontent. That takes preference over setting the
charset in HTML. Of course it is a good idea to do it both.

Please provide details about the cases where it doesn't work.

I've gone to sites that present both english and chinese without setting the
 charset.

I bet they set the charset in HTTP, not HTML.

OK I just need to clarify, because once I make this change it will have and
impact on 10 sites (each using the same templates).

Will this work with MS Access and MS SQL, or will I need some special drivers?

No, instead of Unicode use UTF-8.

FWD: Chinese Character Problem, (Part 1)

2005-04-05 Thread Dwayne Cole
Just when I think I have the problem solved.

I'm working on a site that has a little Chinese Characters. I having problems
on multiple fronts.

GETTING DATA IN
Well I have a content management system and in the application.cfm page i have
content that looks like this

cfset setEncoding(form, iso-8859-1)
cfset setEncoding(Url, iso-8859-1)
cfcontent type=text/html; charset=iso-8859-1

This was because CFMX 6 had some character set issues (MS Access). I was
getting some very funny symbols but the above code cleared in up.

This is obvious the problem with using the CMS to add content to the database
because the content type has has to support chinese characters, particular
charset=gb2312.

Sense it's not a lot of content, I just copy the chinese characters from the a
word document and paste directely into the datbase.

HOWEVER,
MS Word uses a different character set. So when I copy the text from MS Word,
and Paste into Database, funny symbols again.

Any Advice

Dwayne

Anyone out there using the CFX_gfont extension by efflare.com with
ColdFusion 7 on Window Server 2003? I been using this for the past year and
it works great, but since I have upgraded to CF7 I cant seem to get it to
create the font images anymore. Would any one have any ideas on this? I
tried sending an email to efflare.com but have not heard any thing back.

Thanks...

Chinese Characters

2005-03-30 Thread Dwayne Cole
I have a CMS system that takes english characters.

I have a client that wants part of the site to be in Chinese.

What's the best approach?

1). Translate the text before displaying

or

2). Enter chinese text into the database.

In any case I need help. Please :-)
