cfform issue within cflayout - cflayoutarea

2010-09-17 Thread Joe None

Is there a way to use cfform within a cflayoutarea so that when it's finished
processing it doesn't reload itself back into the original cflayoutarea?

I'm using a cfform within a cflayoutarea, I submit my cfform to a processing
page and after the processing, I TRY to load another page altogether.
Unfortunately it reloads back into the cflayoutarea (showing two of my cfforms
and throwing an error). If I use a normal form tag I won't have this issue.
Using a target with cfform doesn't work.

Is there a work-around for this issue? Thanks

Re: www.cbo.gov down. CF to blame?

2010-07-29 Thread Joe None

I remember two black Friday's ago HP and MS Live did a 40% off promotion. They
linked from Live.com (now Bing) into HP's website though a promotion link. This
wasn't heavily advertised I think partially b/c MS and HP didn't want to sell
millions of these specials. Anyhow when this launched at 10am EST it just about
crapped out all the way until 8pm when the promo "ended". It wasn't clear if it
was MS or HP that had the issue but you would believe these two companies would
be able to handle a promotions traffic.

The purpose of this post is to say that if you aren't prepared for the traffic
correctly it won't matter what code or servers you're running.

Re: jQuery alternative to cfwindow?

Thanks for the tips guys. What I like about cfwindow though is it has the modal
option AND I can pass a variable into it. I'll take the variable sent in and
custom the cfwindow, as well as track certain data from the cfwindow. This may
be a bit too much to ask from jQuery.

jQuery alternative to cfwindow?

Is there a library or simple method to duplicate what cfwindow does with

creates. If this is an option in jQuery could someone point me to an example?
Thank you

Does Security Bulletin APSB10-11 apply to MX 7.0.2?

2010-05-17 Thread Joe None

Hello,

I've noticed Adobe's recent patch indicates instructions for versions 8, 8.01
and 9, but I did not see any mention of 7.02 or earlier. Is this because Adobe
no longer supports earlier versions?

If Adobe is not supporting versions before 8, is there any mention that 7.02 or
earlier are or are not affected by this issue?

If 7.02 are affected, what can be done to secure these versions (if there is a
way to secure them now).

TIA

"The Feedback section is entered with an administration section and this is
locked down with a username and password."

If you say the person doing this has already signed into your admin app, try
recording their IP address when they add the XSS code. Then fire them. If you
have access to the web logs and the time they've added this malicious code
(timestamp), you could look back at the ones they've already entered.

I think it's a mistake to charge for it. Microsoft has Visual Studio that's
free (last I checked anyhow) and I believe there are free IDE's for PHP as
well. $249-299 seems steep if you want to expand CF to a larger audience. Maybe
they don't though.

Where are you using cfqueryparam above? With "County.ID"?

What are they doing to "hack" your site? Can you give an example?

You can use IsValid before your query as well:

What do you mean interface? You just need to code something that does this, as
in writing a query to insert, update or delete a database record that points to
an image.

How do you send in a parenthesis () value to Verity without it throwing up?
I've tried URLEncodedFormat() and URLDecode(), neither seems to work well. An

Verity Search results - invalid characters displayed?

Hello,

I'm going through some testing with a Verity results page and for some reason,
the data displayed from PDF's shows a lot of question marks for quotes and

but I can't capture what they actually are, because I just see a block.

Is this something I can correct by changing a character set?

Strangely enough, they haven't been written to in some time. I'm using a error
catch page in the CF Admin (Missing Template Handler & Site-Wide Error Handler)
and in that file I email myself if error is defined. Would this cause the
application.log & exception.log files to stop being used? I can't imagine it
would but the time the logs stopped being updated is around the time I put in
the error catch page.

I have plans on setting up a virtual machine with Linux/Apache/CF so I can
troubleshoot without having the limited access I do. But for now I'd like to
get this Verity update working.

Updating a Verity Collection on a remote UNIX server

2009-03-20 Thread Joe None

Hello,

I've had a Verity Collection created on a UNIX server and because I don't have
access to the CF Admin, I have to update the collection through code. Here's
what I have so far (that doesn't seem to be working).

I'm not seeing any error but its not refreshing either, just taking a second or
two and then nothing. What log file in UNIX should I be looking in for this? I
do have access to the server files so if I know where to look for an error, I
can go from there. Thnx

Excellent, reading up on it now. Just curious, when creating the collection

Here's my batch I'm running with vspider. It doesn't report any errors and it
notes "All starting points found".

-style c:\cfusionmx7\verity\data\stylesets\coldfusionvspider\

Submitted 0 documents for insert
Indexed 0 documents.

Any ideas?

Verity Search indexing problem - reading not processing

2009-03-10 Thread Joe None

Hello,

I'm working through getting Verity up and running and I've hit a snag. Verity
is going through the files fine but it's not pulling the page title attribute.
The reason for this is the page title and some other values are stored in a
database, then pulled with the page name when read on the site. Because Verity
just "reads" the pages and doesn't process them, I can't populate the title
value.

So my question is, is there a way to have Verity index my site AND process the
pages? As in read the pages through the http:// path instead of
c:\inetput\wwwroot\? Any tips are appreciated.

We're using CF 7.02 with Apache/Unix. Locally I'm using CF 7.02, XP and IIS.

I was able to use the Flash Detection Kit eventually. I may be wrong about the
SWObject, if I can find the time this weekend I'll take a 2nd look at it.

My problem was that I didn't just have a Flash file to display if the user had
the plugin, there was also some HTML & CF code. I also don't care for putting
my content in a document.write and spitting it out with JavaScript. I just like
the option of having two separate DIV's with two different pieces of content.
If SWObject can do that, then I will find the time to at least take another
look.

This is on a home page, so there won't be any previous requests unfortunately.
Also the only place we're using Flash on this site is the homepage, so setting
a persistent variable wouldn't benefit us.

Yeah I was playing around with that but it's not quite what I'm looking for. I
have to pieces of content that need CF code to run so I've decided to use two
DIV's, one for Flash/CF/HTML and one for non-Flash/CF/HTML. I'm using the Flash
Detection Kit and I've almost completed this, I'm just stuck trying to have my
DIV's get their DISPLAY option set in the header. I can't assign a BLOCK value
to each because they aren't defined until later in the page.

So this has become a JavaScript problem. Does anyone know how to define values
for a DIV in the header that isn't created until mid-page? Where I'm setting
the Var values I'm getting errors in setting the BLOCK values in the IF
hasReqestedVersion.

I guess a simple way to do this would be to have two DIV's. One for Flash
content and one for CF/HTML. That way I could still do the CF processing and
make the CF Div have a display of BLOCK, while the Flash had a NONE. Has anyone
done this in the past?

Flash Player detection and then CFIF code possible?

2007-11-23 Thread Joe None
Hello,

I'm trying to code a page where if the user doesn't have the Flash plugin they
get alternate content and not the usual "Click here to download the Flash
Player" link. We will have two separate homepage content locations, one for
Flash and one for standard HTML.

So if I could capture in Javascript whether they had the Player installed I
could present within a CFIF or a JS If these two different pieces of content. I
searched for something on this but wasn't able to find anything. Any ideas?
