Re: Server performance problem since upgrading to CF8

2007-10-30 Thread Kevin Pompei
Well I've isolated the problem down. It happens 1 hour and 7 minutes after
restart which it time that is set for the client stores to be purged. This
must be a bug in CF because once it starts the one CPU core is at 100% and
stays there even for days until the server is restarted.

Server performance problem since upgrading to CF8

2007-10-29 Thread Kevin Pompei
Every since upgrading to CF8 I've been having a frustrating problem. After
starting CF, it will run for a while (sometimes serveral hours, sometimes
less than an hour) at about 1% - 3% in terms of processor load. (It's a 2
cpu - 4 core system.) Then, all of a sudden, the processor load will jump
up to about 25% and stay there until CF is restarted. Pages then start
loading very sluggishly. This never happened with CF7 and I haven't made
any code changes since upgrading.
Also, the CF code that this server runs is very light.

Anyone seen this, or have any ideas. BTW, I'm running the standard edition
of CF so I don't have access to the server monitor.

CF server crashes every night at 1:01 AM

2006-08-08 Thread Kevin Pompei
I'm having a strange problem. At 1:01am every night, our cf server
starts generating error messages saying "Not enough storage is
available to process this command" for any page that is requested.
The cf service can't be stopped in the Services admin tool. I have to
shut down the jrun process in task manager in order to restart it.
Then everything is fine until the next night.

The machine has 4gb of RAM. The jrun service is usually only using
about 1.2gb when this happens. The machine also has over 200gb of
disk space available.

Any ideas about what is causing it?

Thanks,
Kevin

Re: CFMX Server and Flash Remoting

2003-12-01 Thread Kevin Pompei
Try http://myserver.com:8500/flashservices/gateway/
and see if it has been configured for the built-in web server.

I had trouble when I upgraded a demo install to a licensed copy.  I was never able to get remoting working on the IIS instance.  I had to do a complete reinstall.  (This was on MX 6.0, I haven't had any problems with 6.1.)

Re: DevCon 2003

2003-03-29 Thread Kevin Pompei
Nights will be cold. Days will vary from 30-60F. There should be decent
skiing by that time.

Re: DevCon 2003

2003-03-28 Thread Kevin Pompei
Actually, Salt Lake City is not that much like the rest of Utah. It's much
more diverse than people often think. Not just ethnically but also
politically and religously. I've lived here for almost 9 years and I can
tell you that the skiing is fantastic. Uncrowded runs are less than 30
minutes from Downtown. Since the 2002 Winter Olympics the restaurant scene
has also improved dramatically. Hotel rates are generally not very
expensive.

Re: CFML Forever!

2003-02-04 Thread Kevin Pompei
CFC's are an essential feature to me. A .Net implementation of CFML
would be nice, but I wouldn't use it if it didn't support CFC's.

Re: Image toolbar

There is a meta-tag you can use:
