RE: CF vs. .NET presentations?

2006-09-29 Thread Massimo Gianadda
The only points that sometimes work (in my experience) are:

1) security issues (doesn't matter if true or false)
2) developement time/costs

That's only really useful if you want to run on anything other windows. The
fact that they want to use .NET I presume means they like windows.

This has never failed to work for me:
Slide 1: .NET is a pile of poo!
 Slide 2: CF is wonderful!!!
 The End.

 ;)

Alternatively, you could go for the both option, with BlueDragon.NET

  Hi,

Have any of you done a presentation to justify using CF over .NET? A
friend of mine just got a big contract, but the owner wants it to be
done in .NET. My friend is trying to convince him to let him do it in
CF. If you have done a similar presentation, would you please give us
  some pointers? Thanks.

 Johnny

Agreed... It's simple if you post your invoice directly to their site... But
a pain to do anything integrated... The key pairs thing almost made me put
an ice pick in my eye.

Paypal is actually pretty simple... including their cart

No it ain't! Paypal sucks! I did the IPN and PDT and it was a *itch.

Re: Coldfusion serial number lost

2006-09-06 Thread Massimo Gianadda
Thank you for your help,
unfortunately I had no time to register, it was a fresh copy (Murphy docet).

But I can't believe there is no solution to this issue.

If you REGISTERED the product with Adobe, hey *MIGHT* be able to help...
if not though, you're probably SOL.

Coldfusion serial number lost

2006-09-05 Thread Massimo Gianadda
Sorry for the OT, but I'm really frustrated,
I have purchased Coldfusion from an Italian reseller, unfortunately CD with
serials has been kept away by a courier who retired
a server and are lost.
I have talked with Italian support with no luck, I have of course produced
the invoice (as required) but none seems to know how to help me.
Now one month is past and I am still waiting for a solution.
I hope this problem depends only by the incompetence of the italian support
staff and someone can help me.
Max

ps. obviously I'm not looking for workarounds to the problem...
