RE: CFHTTP question

2002-06-25 Thread Peter Dray

If you're running MX maybe you could write a web service on each machine
that would allow you to do what you want. I'm not sure CFHTTP is the thing
you need.

I could be wrong tho, it's been known to happen!

Subject: CFHTTP question

I have not used this tag at all. But in an effort to get CF used where I
work,
I told them I could do what I'm about to ask. Please tell me if this can be
done.

There are two seperate systems in different states. On is an ASP/SQL Server
and
the other Perl/Oracle (Unix). There is a firewall in front of the Unix
machine.
We need to get feeds from each to the other to populate/sync up each
database.
Can CFHTTP do this? I also recommended XML (WDDX) but we don't have the
expertise yet. If CFHTTP can work, can some one please describe how it
works so
I can discuss it in my next meeting?

Thanks all,

RE: CFSEARCH results: HTML vs. Plain Text

2002-03-13 Thread Peter Dray

Hurahh, at last something I can help with

I am duty bound to point out that I grabbed this code from a custom tag on
the dev exchange, their are plenty there.

EndLoop = 0;
StartPosition = 1;
while (StartPosition gt 0){
StartPosition = REFindNoCase("",source,StartPosition);
if(endPosition gt 0){
source =
RemoveChars(source,StartPosition,EndPosition-StartPosition+1);
startPosition = 1;
}
}else{
endLoop = 1;
}
}
OutputText=trim(source);

Subject: CFSEARCH results: HTML vs. Plain Text

Hello,

I've got lightly formatted HTML in a database (bold / italic / lists). I'm
using the CFINDEX Query function to fill a CFCOLLECTION. My problem is the
HTML. I'd prefer to display my search results as plain text. Is there a way
to strip HTML formatting? I've tried the string functions, but just haven't
figured out how to eliminate the HTML. Can someone give me a couple
pointers?

Thanks,
Lou Klepner

Out of nowhere, debugging information at the bottom of our CF pages has
stopped showing up on two separate servers. I checked the settings in CF
Admin. and the appropriate IP addresses are listed in the box. I have
stopped and re-started the services, but no luck. Has anyone seen this
happen before? Thanks for any help.

RE: cfpop - Is It POOP?

2002-01-29 Thread Peter Dray

The way I have done it in the past is to append message numbers to a list
and then delete the list ie:

I'm running a cfpop to grab 10 message headers at a time, then runing them
through a cfquery output to take message with subject="undeliverable" and
 run another cfpop to delete that messageNumber. I'm only grabbing 10 at a
time and looping back because when I tried to run more, I got errors and wh
en I created a list of messageNumbers to delete I'd get "messageNumber not
found".

I am the only one with access to the mailbox. It is a hosted mailserver. I
alternately get three different error messages:

[IN-USE] failed to lock or parse or multiple access

Cannot determine message count

Request canceled or ignored by serverServer busy or unable to fulfill reque
st.

Have you tried using Verity collections?

They can build a text index of a large range of document tyoes including MS
Word.

Hey all,

Is there a way to take a word file and run it through some sorta funky cold
fusion thing and insert the text into a database? and then loop it so it
will do a collection of documents (I guess that one is sorta wishful
thinking)
