Re: validating email CF11

You might want to look at Mailgun -

http://www.mailgun.com/email-validation

they have jquery implementation (https://github.com/mailgun/validator-demo)

Given how often TLDs are changing is there a way in CF to do a
verification that the domain name exists? That would seem simpler.

Re: SOT - Navicat Identity Column

2014-04-01 Thread Scott Slone

Kevin,
I seem remember that in design mode you select the column that you want to use
as identity and at the bottom of the screen there is a selector to set it as
identity. I don't have it in front of me, but seem to remember it there. You
can also set defaults in the same panel.

Hope that helps.

Set your mysql server to deliver through a different port - and in the cf

But just to clarify, the mysql server sends out via 3306 - the windows box
doesn't need to use it's own 3306 port.

Re: ColdFusion to Salesforce.com Web-To-Lead

Shawn-
Here is rough page code based on what I have done in the past.

First: Insert your data into your table. I use standard SQL insert code
instead of cfinsert - I find that it works better for me (YMMV)
Second: post your data to the web-to-lead form
Third: make sure you are passing all the fields that SFDC requires for
assignment. If you don't pass them, the insert may fail.

Feel free to let me know if you have any questions.

The salesforce.cfc is fairly easy to use, so if you can, use it. If you cannot,
then look at the source code of your web to lead form. There are hidden fields
that you also need to pass the params for to SFDC.

Take a look at JangoSMTP and SMTP2Go
I forget which one offers audit and tracking, and I'm not sure if it
contains all the data you are wanting to capture, but it is a place to
start.

I'm pretty sure both have test account/trials so you can see if they fit
your needs.

Claude,
Can you create a new data source using an existing Access file? if so the issue
may be the version of Access or a missing component that you have on desktop
but not on server.

Then this is certainly not crucial, as I have about 25 other databases, most
of them using the same Access driver, none of them is registered in this
file, and all of them work perfectly.

What I really need is a kit from Adobe. The biggest issue with CF is its
reputation. There are too many blogs, etc. out there that say CF is a dying

information - he does not want to get caught up investing in a dead-end
 technology.

It seems to me Adobe would benefit greatly by providing a kit that would
help developers back-up the claim that CF is a solid technology with a sound
future. What we need are some solid statistics to:

 - Compare capabilities to other technologies
 - Illustrate an ROI equal to or superior to other technologies
 - Document current use on enterprise level systems (i.e., a reliable client
 list)
 - Demonstrate a solid investment from Adobe and complete commitment to a
 future path

Adobe has done its work to sell CF to the developer. What they also need to
do is the work to help back-up the developer when they are reselling CF
solutions. They are a bit lacking in partner/reseller support.

Re: Mura Email Broadcaster Help

2010-07-16 Thread Scott Slone

Matt-
I believe the links are generated at runtime based on your site ID and
the broadcast email address in the administrator - The links generate a
forward/unsub email form (i haven't used this function, so I may be
talking out of my hat) the actual email code is in your site
template/includes directory, and should be named inc_email.cfm.
Setup and send yourself a test...

also found this on the forums -

Hope it helps.

I am trying to get our high school band's website re-launched (powered by
Mura), but I am running into a snag. I cannot for the life of me figure out
where and how to edit the footer Unsubscribe and Forward links that go
 out in email broadcasts.

I have created a newsletter subscription page which is the page I want those
links to direct the recipients to. On that page I have added the mail list
content object. But how do I edit the footer links in the emails?

 Thanks in advance.

Re: Disabling Application.cfm for a specific page

2008-09-23 Thread Scott Slone
I see to remember that you could just create a bare-bones app.cfm
in that directory (thought it will affect all pages in that
directory). This will not stop the app.cfm from loading, but will
stop it from loading content from the app.cfm at the site root.

The cfm is in a regular directory in the web root and I'd prefer to
 not mess
with the directory structure or cfadmin custom tag paths.

If you know of a way to do this, let me know. Thanks!
