RE: CF 4.0 and Win2000
Try installing CF 4.5. I've had the same problems with 4.0 but after I upgraded to 4.5 everything seems to work fine (except for a few weird failures, nothing serious). My box: Win2000, PIII 500, 128MB. -Original Message- From: Dave Hannum [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Monday, June 05, 2000 4:46 PM To: CF-Talk Subject: CF 4.0 and Win2000 OK - I know that CF 4.0 is not certified for Win2000. But, I just want to use it on a development box with Win2K and IIS for about a month - just the single user version off of CFStudio 4.0. It seemed to load fine, but when I start the server, it loads - then after about 3 or 4 seconds, it dies (shuts down). I watch this in my Task Manager in Win2000. Any clues as to what is happening? Can I make this work or must I install 4.5 to run on Win2000? How do I create a "Tell a friend" feature? I want to be able to submit the page link automaticaly, based on the page where the user is, and the person who sent it, with a certain message. Is there perhaps a tag for this? Thanks. RE: Customization
There's sure one thing I can say: it's sure nasty beeing a CF newbie, but it's even more nasty to know what you want but not to know how to put it in words. Newertheless, your replies have helped me very much. I have managed to do what I wanted by modifying the site's structure and doing everything with . It's not so pro, but it works. RE: Customization
OK, it's a customization thing. Let's say, he doesn't want to view the latest stocks or the weather report on a specific page, and he wants those settings saved. How do I do that? Is that more clear? RE: WDDX OR XML News Feeds
Check out www.moreover.com. They have VERY extensive news feeds available I think both in XML and CF. Guess only headlines. RE: Forms
Sorry, but that didn't solve it. This is what I do. I wrote this code quickly under Notepad and sent it to the list: When you're going to view this code in your browser, you'll see a blank line under the textbox. So, the question is: Where am I wrong, what's wrong with this code? Please help, I am sure the solution is quite simple, but I haven't found it, yet! I have a pretty weird problem. I usualy use Dreamweaver for designing the site's layout, sometimes I handcode. Anyway, whenever I insert a tag and all the inputs inside, the tag appears between two white lines, or leaves at the bottom a big space. How do I get rid of that space? What am I doing wrong? Thanx in advance.
