CfDocument Issues
Hello, We just moved a client to a new server and am now having issues with CFDocument. It is taking 35-45 seconds to load a simple 2 page document as either flashpaper or PDF, It is also not linking in the stylesheet or the 1 image in the document. They are running on 7.0.2, windows 2003 and are the only site on the server. Anyone have any ideas? Re: CfDocument Issues
I am getting the red x but the link is relitive. The site is setup in the same configuration as on the previous server. I also tried putting in the full url and that did not work either. I had this issue and it was the image. Are you getting a red 'X' instead of the image? If you either take out the image or update the url it should be fine. That was my problem anyway. Coldfusion and plesk 7.5
Has anyone installed CF 7 on a windows 2003 server with plesk 7.5 installed? I cannot get cf to install and have the services start. I think this is the error that is causing issues: Web Server Connector Configuration Error Status: ERROR Additional Notes: ERROR - JNDI port 2920 for server coldfusion is not active I have turned off any firewalls that could be blocking it but cf will still not install. RE: OOD/Design Patterns and ColdFusion.
If your not going to use a gateway Object, I would put a method in your DAO to return a query for the master list. You could then create a bean and populate it though each record or just output the query. I tend to do a bit of both so I guess my apps are more OOish the straight OO. If your going to use a gateway CFC, the gateway holds all the methods the would return more than one row, as these cannot be returned to the caller in a bean. -Original Message- From: Ian Skinner [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, May 17, 2006 4:16 PM To: CF-Talk Subject: RE: OOD/Design Patterns and ColdFusion. Steve Brownlee That way the order in which they are set is moot. The equivalent of an XOR operation :) Ok that makes sense and seems to align well with the concept of the bean/object being responsible for itself. I think I got a handle on the form, form action, bean and dao relationship. Writing up some code not to see how it goes. I'm sure I'll be back for more questions when I get into the actual implementation. One question that has not yet been addressed is how would I use these bean and DAO objects for the master page? Or is it easier just to keep this procedural where I would query the database for all the Trima Records and output each one with a link to the form-detail page? -- Ian Skinner Web Programmer BloodSource www.BloodSource.org Sacramento, CA - | 1 | | - Binary Soduko | | | - C code. Firefox Problem
Hi All, I'm having a session variable issue with firefox. We have a login that if it is valid, it will set the values in a user cfc that they are logged in and all their user data and allow them to access member or admin sections of the site. This works perfectly fine in IE but fails in firefox. If I dump the variables in the user cfc in the stored in the session scope on the results page that processes the login, all is good. Once I get forwarded to the admin main page and dump the object, it shows not logged in and no user info. I have checked and there is no code recreating the session object and this is happening whether it's cflocation forwarding it or clicking a link on the results page. Any help would be appreciated. Okay, it seems to be a day for questions for me. :) Can anyone recommend a Canadian solution for: A) CF hosting - CFMX prefered, if possible, and in Canada would be nice, although not absolutely necessary. B) A CF-friendly company that can handle Canadian on-line credit-card authorizations - looking around on-line, seems all the big names are geared to the US. I'm new to this side of things, so I don't know if that means they only deal in US currency transations, which would mean two conversions for every sale (Cdn Customer-US $ charge-Cdn $ to the company), or if it's an option to choose your currency. I found an old reference to Pacific Online, but they don't seem to be offering CF hosting anymore. Also one for http://www.afpwebworks.com - however, I'd prefer something a little closer to home, if possible, but I'm checking them out - anyone have any comments on their service? Thanks! MX7 installation woes
Hey All, We are in the process of setting up a new server to host our clients on and have run into some problems. We installed MX7 onto the box with no issues and were able to run the administrator and test sites. We then installed our control panel, Plesk 7.02, and we lose MX7. No pages will run, we just get Page not found. The company that makes Plesk, SWSoft, says they will have an MX7 patch out by the fall but we have clients we need to setup on this server that are using MX7 features, so going back to 6.1 is not an option. I don't think I've seen that.I can quite happily check if a query recordcount is 0 or not. cfcomponent cffunction name=myFunction access=public returntype=query cfset myResult=foo !--- Will return no records --- cfquery name=qryTest datasource=#application.qryDSN# Select * From tblArticle Where Homepage=2 /cfquery cfreturn qryTest /cffunction /cfcomponent Junk.cfm cfobject component=test name=objtest cfinvoke component=#objtest# method=myFunction returnvariable=qryarticle cfif qryArticle.recordcount EQ 0 cfdump var=#objtest# /cfif Page results component http://localhost/CFIDE/componentutils/CFCExplorer.cfc?method=getcfcinhtmln ame=dreamcatcher.test dreamcatcher.test MYFUNCTION function myFunction Arguments: none Return Type: query Roles: Access: public Output: Yes _ From: Dain Anderson [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Tuesday, June 01, 2004 3:16 PM To: CF-Talk Subject: Re: Is an empty query object still a good query object? Jeff Small wrote: But useful, in sofar as you could build a little check cfif myQuery.recordcount GT 0 and it would work... Correct me if I'm wrong, but when an empty query object is returned from a CFC, and then you check for RecordCount, it throws an error stating recordcount does not exist for 'x' query. This isn't the case with a normal CFQUERY. The workaround I've used is this (from within a CFC): CFFUNCTION NAME=getValues RETURNTYPE=query CFQUERY NAME=getItems DATASOURCE=#Request.Datasource# SELECT* FROM myTable WHERESome_Value = '#Arguments.SomeValue#' /CFQUERY CFIF NOT getValues.RecordCount CFSET getValues = QueryNew(getValues.ColumnList) /CFIF CFRETURN getValues /CFFUNCTION This correctly returns an empty query object. I'm not sure why CFCs do this, but this is what I've found at any rate. -Dain _ [Todays Threads] [This Message] [Subscription] [Fast Unsubscribe] [User Settings]

Query Functions - i.e. QueryNEW() etc
Were the query functions, QueryNew(), QueryAddRow() ETC. functions available in CF 4.5.I have a client running on a 4.5 host who refuses to switch hosting, and I need to build a new query from a larger one but with no Query of a query is's a pain in my behind. Before I spend the time writing the code building the query from the other, I wanted to know if the functions were available in 4.5 or not. RE: Mach-II
We used mach-ii on a project at my company and I'll agree that there was a steep leaning curve. If your planning on using it on a large enterprise scale project, I would suggest that maybe a smaller internal project first to work out any bugs in the process.I did like the framework and the only reason we ended up not using it was because the host the client was on was running 6.0 and not 6.1. Working without a framework around here is a lot like herding cats. Mach-II has a number of capabilties that are ideal for what I am planning to do, I just wanted to get some anecdotal pros / cons. It sounds to me like people are concerned over scalability and the learning curve. Anyways, it also doesn't sound like you have ever used Mach-II. You don't have to use a framework for very large projects, just plan it very well at first and document it very well. This might account for a large portion of the 9500h you plan to spent on it. But it is well worth it, even on relatively small projects. Java and CF
Hi All, We have numerous clients that we have developed sites for where there has been times when a java solution may have been easier then what we did but they are all in shared hosting environments. Is there any way to write java classes, compile them and place them in the clients webroot, and call them without the class being in CF's classpath? Manipulating Images
We have a client that has a photo gallery where users can upload photos which then have to be approved by the admin.I want to be able to check the dimensions of the image when it's approve and if the width is more the X, resize it to a width X.It looks like Imagemagik might be the solution.Has anyone else done something like this and have Code or a tag that will do it or any other suggestions? Thanks, Trevor PS.Don't really have time to write a Java Class to do this even though i know it can be done. [Todays Threads] [This Message] [Subscription] [Fast Unsubscribe] [User Settings]
