That failed miserably. The demo takes you to a page with a file field, I selected a 6-7mb file and hit upload... a popup window came up but never populated... it finally closed and the parent window redirected to a 404. .:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:. That's a lie. This tag never fails. As I helped Caroline out at the start of this same project this tag is no longer an option as when it is under the load required for this application the tag fails. You could use cfx-http5 for this (http://www.cftagstore.com/tags/cfxhttp5.cfm). Options are: 1. The tag will not buffer file in memory. 2. You can do this asynchronously (not in CF thread), while executing another code on the same (or different) page. 3. You can check the status of the process in real time and to cancel it, if needed. 4. I know that this problem has been solved as an algorithm, because the web searches I've done have indicated that. However, the only two links to the actual algorithms that I've found are both broken. Yes, these algorithms calculate Editing distance and well known since late 60s. Most of them use dynamic programming approach. However, they consume a lot of time (average compexity O(n^2)) and space. They are heavy even for C. So forget about Java and ColdFusion, especially if you want to do this often and on large texts. This was bad news. Good news is that there are approximate much faster, less expensive, but less precise algorithms. This may fit your needs. If you just want to know that a lot of text was changed, but really do not care what exactly was changed, you should look for LCS algorithms. Also, thumbnails look VERY different from the big picture. See Microsoft page, as an example. Usual place for some free cheese is a mousetrap... That is weird.
